So, I don't know if im in the right thread or not, and if im not, please redirect me. So I was trying to hack my 3DS using the guide from the "3ds.guide" website. Seeing it was at 11.5.0-38U, and I had an incompatible flashcart (AK2i), I tried doing it on my brother's 3DS, where it is version 4.3, and the AK2i works. I had gotten far into the process, when I realized I was doing the guide for 11.5 and not the guide for 4.3, so I had to reflash the flashcart from ntrboot to its original state. I knew something was wrong when I saw 3 black squares or tiles on the homescreen with blank names. I backed up all my brother's files onto the SD card, then I formatted it the 3DS. When it rebooted, it immediately shut down. I tried turning it on, and when I did, the blue light flashed once. I tried putting in the SD card, and that was when it only turned on. When it did reboot and i filled in all the settings, the black tiles were still there. I tried putting my SD card into my computer and deleted the 3DS file, reapplied the luma, hombrew, boot9strap, and the safeb9installer files, then put it back in. When I turned the 3DS on, it went to the Luma config settings right away. I knew it shouldn't be doing that. Is there anyway to fix this?

Since you already have B9S installed on the 3DS with firmware v4.3 you are safe to update.

Well, if I update it, it will go to 11.6. To do the hack, I would have to buy a game. If you know me, i'm kind of cheap. lol

Is there any way to re install the OS?

wait. so if i already installed it, i can update to 11.6 and it will still be there?

If you have boot9strap, you can safely update to 11.6 without redoing your hacks.
To unlink the system & SD card, just delete everything in the Nintendo 3DS folder on the SD card. (THIS WILL DELETE ALL YOUR DIGITAL GAME SAVES! BACK THEM UP WITH CHECKPOINT FIRST!)

well. i have a new problem. stupid me deleted the ctrnand files. how can i restore a back up or is there any files i could download.

edit: fixed it
edit: its now at 11.5.
