There's a different between mods and plugins. Mods are client side, plugins are server side. There are some plugins that use client mods as well, for instance, ItemCraft, which allows for client-side mods to work with SMP, such as Planes, FancyPack, etc.

I always just think of them as server side mods.

Don't add planes, Then the server will be griefed Crazilly.

You're running the server from ytour laptop...right?
This server will stop when you turn off your laptop. A computer that's not on can't run a program.

I heard you can upload the server online.

Well, you can 'upload' it another computer somewhere to use as a server. At the moment you're running it on your laptop, if you want it to keep running when your laptop is off you need another computer running it. Usually if you want a computer working as an always-on server for something, be it webhosting, irc or games then you rent one.

Then I will become the server.
My internet connection is good, and I'm online more often.
So consider making me a server tagzard.
