Hi guys,

The old forwarders are now history. I created a new complete NTSC-U Forwarder set that should now work in USB Loader GX as well. These forwarders are 2stage forwarders. The iso will load a dol file in usb/Forwarder/Wiiware/xxxx.dol which will then load the wiiware title. These are the more advanced forwarders that should hopefully be future proof incase major changes are made to triiforce. Because instead of having to recreate all the iso's AGAIN, a simple batch file could be used to create new dols for the forwarder/wiiware folder. Both the dol and forwarder iso needs to be present on the hdd for these new forwarder iso's to function. Bellow is a pack with the folder structure you should see on the root of your hdd.

Individual forwarder iso's will take a while for me to get up because it will require a lot of moving around. The old forwarders can still be found in my mediafire shares and i will leave the mirrors up but its advisable that everyone switch over to the new ones. Also the old ones seem to be broken with cios38rev17 but these new ones work great
smile.gif

I'm also pretty sure that the combination of cios38rev17 slightly increases wiiware compatibility. I was able to start Adventure Island The Beginning without it freezing but i'm not sure if it was due to the updated cios.

These new forwarders also seemed to compress better.

EDIT - was having issues getting this whole triiforce thingy to run for the first time, but now I'm good. I do however have one small question, would this be the appropriate thread to request a forwarder for a particular custom injected wad or is such discussions not allowed.

Let's just say being able to play every game of the smash bros series or mario kart series on one console is a nice thing.

Thanks kallstar, these are much, much appreciated. I am really glad you decided to find a fix and a proper one at that. Now hopefully we can just add to them in the future and get on with it. +1000 rep bro.

Hmm, I still can't seem to get the forwarders to work with USBLoaderGX. I have followed the very limited instructions and placed the Forwarders/Wiiware/xxxx.dol on the root of my ntfs/partitioned drive and I installed the appropriate .iso with wbfs manager onto my fat drive. It shows up in GX, I attempt to load it and I get a black screen. I reset my Wii and go to channel forwarder mrc_triiforce and the same game works.

I don't know if this is user error or what but what I do know is I grow tired of the testing so I think I'm going to put this all behind me and continue to use mrc_triiforce for my VC/Wiiware loading.

Thank you kallstar for making the effort and for the hard work you've put into this. Props to ya, but on another note from the introduction of these forwarders in this thread, I have seen this as a form of thread stealing. This I realize has not been intentional but this has happened none the less. With all the hard work you(kallstar) have put in to these you really should start a new thread.

marc_max, props to you also bro, your gui is proving to be a one stop shop for pics and trix.

didnt try kallstars new forwarders yet, but i made a few similar ones using spayrosams forwarder program and i had to put the dols in usb/triifowarders. maybe that will work instead of usb/forwarders/wiiware

Please put both the Forwarders/Wiiware/xxxx.dol and the corresponding forwarder.iso onto your hdd.

Don't really understand what I need to do with .dol files.
Before I just added the .iso to my hard drive and it worked, now another step is needed?

I think the idea is that if they change the Triiforce dol stuff, you just copy over the 177 dol files to the USB, and they're updated, rather then try and update all of those messy iso files.

Hmm.. I guess.
Pretty easy to delete and re-add the iso with wbfs manager tho. They are small so it doesnt take long.
Guess its good to have different ways to do it.

I hope they work with GX loader, I haven't used it since the last ones since they didnt work. Grown to like Configurable loader better tho.

Only way I could things working was to put the forwarder dir on my SD card? All ISO loaded to WBFS partition. Tried with the forwarders on the FAT32 partition, but it didn't work. Just got black screen had to force power off. Just put them : sd/Forwarders/Wiiware/xxxx.dol

Works in WiiFlow, USB Loader GX and USB Loader CFG. Not sure why it will not work of the USB HD

Anyway, next version will include:
* Game filter (you can select what games you want to see: WiiWare, NES...)
* Vertical covers for NES and Megadrive games
* Load images from USB
Sorry guys. I have no time for triiforce mrc, I am working on other important projects. For now, I'll stop working on it unless it needs an important update if Waninkoko releases his FFS plugin source.
QUOTE(Sinyk @ Jan 15 2010, 09:05 PM) Then I will keep working on my ss mod for triiforce mrc.

I never thought about the vertical covers, but it's a possibility. I just have one little thing to add and I am content (I'm mostly content with the current version) but like you, I've been really busy in the last few days and the next while to really do anything with it.

The TitleIDs now also have WW- added in it so even if you choose not to paste the wiiware names to the end of your titles.txt file it should still show up at the bottom of your games list with ww- infront. In addition to this the folders are also named in a manner which give configurable USB Loader the full name since there is a character limit for iso names.

(Please note the new "Full-Quick" conversion pack is 512x340 instead of 1024x680. Theres two reasons for this, 1) it loads MUCH much faster than the larger covers and 2) its simply my small icons stretched out behind a template so there will be no quality gain going to the larger size. The white boarder around the question mark was also slightly increased so that it displays better in Configurable USB Loader <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" />

2 quick questions
1) do u plan on making forwarder iso's for VC games too?
2) are u going to share the process u used to make these forwarder ISOs? I know how to make the dol (just use CRAP then extract the dol), but how about changing where the ISO forwards (ie. xxxx.dol) and changing the iso sound

awesome work, thanks for doing this, u saved me A LOT of time

I still can't seem to get the forwarders to work with USBLoaderGX.

On another note from the introduction of these forwarders in this thread, I have seen this as a form of thread stealing.

marc_max, props to you also bro, your gui is proving to be a one stop shop for pics and trix.
For those having problems with these forwarders heres a list of things to try. First, if you have an SD card in your wii while starting these forwarder channels make sure to have a copy of the Forwarders/Wiiware dols on your sd card. Second, try to use the most recent revision of whatever loader you're on. If it STILL doesnt work, try installing hermes cios 222 rev4 and starting the forwarder iso's with the "ios=222-mload" setting inside your loader. OR of course feel free to give up. I had no idea these forwarders would prove to be so problematic with the array of different setups out there. Sorry to anyone who has been having a tough time getting them to work.

Onto thread stealing. I actually agree with you... this topic has became partially forwarder centric. This of course was not my intention, i just didnt know where to put up my icon pack and i didnt feel the forwarders alone merited a separate thread. triiforce mrc to me has always felt like the most centralized place for wiiware icon related things and it was the reason i posted it in here. I expected these forwarder channels to be a minor footnote for an alternative way to launch wiiware titles.

I'm probably going to post future forwarder related things in http://gbatemp.net/index.php?showtopic=187806 that seems like the more appropriate topic for them which i didnt find til after my original post. So apologies once again if these whole forwarders were too far off topic.

At this time i don't plan on making forwarders for VC games. Hopefully and most likely, when Spayrosam's Auto ISO'S maker 3ISO'S version (V2) is released nobody will have to manually make these forwarders! But of course the way i made them is no state secret lol.

I used sr_corsario's batch method, which im just going to call very-semi-automatic. It created the Forwarders/Wiiware dols and main.dol's and forwarder iso's from a list of wads. But then i had to manually open each iso with wiiscrubber to inject the main.dol's THEN make&inject proper opening.bnr's for the sounds from the wads as well (which were not created). Then i opened up each "finished" iso (aka proper sound and main.dol) with wiiscrubber to change the titleID because most of the titles were gibberish lol. This is also when i decided to put WW- in for hard titles. Then after that i setup a nicely named folder for it the way i planned to have it on my fat32 partition with "Gamename [GameID]\Gameid.iso" (a layout btw, thats also supported in the latest GX rev).
