Treyarch: Wii Version of COD:Black Ops will "Blow you Away"

In an interview with ONM Treyarch studio head Mark Lamia promised to "blow away" Wii owners, here are some excerpts form the interview:

"Whereas we're able to create the same assets that can be displayed on the PS3, PC and the 360, we actually have to do quite a bit of work both on the technology and the assets and the investment is heavy to get it working on the Wii."

"It'll be our fourth Wii shooter. Have there been another team that has put out four Wii shooters? We have a huge online fanbase so we obviously want to please that audience.

"What we want to be able to do is create the most intense, the most cinematic 'you can't believe this is running on the Wii' situation that you could imagine. That's what people expect from Call Of Duty. They expect to be blown away. We're going to blow you away."

Call of Duty: Black Ops is out November 9th.

Their ports of WaW and Cod 4 have been pretty good. Looks like Black Ops will be even better.

The thing here is that they're not porting Black Ops to the Wii, they're building it from the ground-up. Last time I checked CoD4 and 5 were definitely ports. And with the Wii getting a lot of "non-exclusive exclusives" nowadays (like Prince of Persia, the upcoming Transformer's game, etc), who knows, this could be good.

They said impressibe cinematics. The gameplay can still look bad but the previous CoD for the wii wasn't too bad. Hope it turns out good. I actually enjoy FPS on the wii.

the transformers game isn't exclusive to the wii! The pre-equal game will infact be launched on all 3 systems. 360, ps3 and of course the wii.

But it's not a carbon copy of the 360/PS3 versions, much like Prince of Persia: The Forgotten Sands. The Wii version is Cybertron Adventures; the PS3/360 get War for Cybertron. "Non-exclusive exclusives" are multiplatform titles in which one platform gets a different version of the game, not a port.
