Hi there! Augh, never been that good with forums or threads and the like, so please tell me if I'm asking the impossible or posting in the wrong forum;
So, I have a basic New 3ds XL with homebrew installed, and freakyforms as the access point. (still have no idea if thats CFW or Luma or w/e)

Anyways, I've been using JK's Save Manager to pull saves from my games for a while, and it's worked perfectly fine. So today I tried pulling some save data on my Story of Seasons: Trio of Towns copy, and when I tried pulling the files up on my computer using the micro sd manager, the files came up as .bin.

All of my other files have been coming up as .sav, and i'll post comparison shots from the sos: tot folder and rune factory 4 folder.

What's more, when I opened it up in a text document, all this popped up.
Now, i've seen this garbled mess somewhere before, but i can't pin where. I was wondering if somebody could help me with understanding what this means? I'm just trying to edit my money value.

Thank you for helping.

What I see is normal. Every game has a different or unique savefile name. If you want to edit something along the lines of money. you would need a hex editing program to do so with.

Oh! I see. Thank you! Any idea if hex editors can open bin files or do i have to change the file extension?
