Hacking Transferring homebrew apps from a Wii to vWii

I've got a Wii running the Homebrew channel, and over the years have built up quite a collection of homebrew. Now I've bought a Wii U, and have set up the homebrew channel on that. I was planning to just take the SD card out of my old Wii, and put it in the Wii U, however when I go to the Homebrew Channel on the vWii, it loads fine, but displays no apps. When I press 2 on the Wiimote and select SD card, the whole system crashes. Am I missing something crucial?

PRobably too many apps, or an incompatible one. take them all out and try them all one by one
