Several executives have to take their hats off the French game developer Ubisoft after allegations of sexual harassment and inappropriate behavior. The changes in the management level should lead to an "improvement of the corporate culture", it said in a statement today.

The changes followed a rigorous review conducted by the company in response to recent allegations of wrongdoing. Chief Creative Officer Serge Hascoet, managing director of Ubisoft's Canadian studio, and global human resources manager Cecile Cornet have resigned.

“Ubisoft was unable to guarantee its employees a safe and inclusive work environment. This is not acceptable, ”said Ubisoft boss Yves Guillemot according to the message. "Toxic behavior" contradicts the company's values. "I am more determined than ever to make profound changes to improve and strengthen our corporate culture." Several employees reported anonymously about moral and sexual harassment in the French newspaper "Liberation".

You know how it is, fire first, then investigate....
I was wary of that and general fire on the basis of an allegation alone. The opening quotes however claim it was following a proper review and I was willing to take them on their word there (even if brush it under the rug is a popular choice).

That matters little though as "Toxic behavior" is a rather broad category these days which is why I was after specifics.

The Guardian is reporting its to do with sexual harassment of several female employees.

Not just devs. Ubisoft Star Players are getting the bad treatment too.

Would still be interested in specifics as that runs the gamut of "blow me for a raise/to secure your job in the next round of layoffs" to "couple of the office lads were talking about the size of the tits on the woman they got with on the weekend (and not anybody that works there)".

Dunno, i'm believe the ''sexual harassment'' is fastest way to remove someone you don't like from a position.

Got this from eurogamer

More than 100 reports were filed.
They mention "environmental harassment". This covers reports from women alone in a team of men that are displaying pornographic pictures, or watching porn movies.

First Sorry for wall O text

I noticed someone mentioned that it could/might happen to a female employee...

Sexual Harassment can happen to men too. (I was a male in my early 30's)

I was in a situation where I was being pressed by an apartment manager very directly, she stated she could make my life easier 'around here' if I had slept with her, she then proceeded to spell out the benefits I would receive in exchange. SHe pressed several times over weeks... while separated from wife.
I was married but separated from my then-wife and after a very short think, decided to turn her in to corporate. They [said they] fired her, but in reality, put her on leave. You see, If I had slept with her (even if I HAD been interested, which I was not, I was totally loyal to my wife) once this woman became tired of me, she would have had to get rid of me, as I would now become a threat to her employment.
As it turns out, she was their financial (PR & fundraising) 'golden child'. The company found a way [loop hole) to evict me and bring her back to work! Problem solved for the company!
I had a case against them, but no money to stick around and fight it, I had just spent months on the road working and was on a temporary sabbatical, low on funds. I couldn't afford the time, funds or publicity to my career to battle it out. The worse part was, my wife, didn't back me, she always thought I would step out on her and how can a MAN get sexually harassed after all.
(even if she was the one who chased me in the 1st place lol.)

She stepped out 1st
good riddance
Fin.

They do not honestly care. Full stop.

All of the leaders at Ubisoft are evil and exploitative. The women included. Full stop.

They are all absolutely unashamed capitalists, through and through. They like to lie and cheat. Exploitation is their blood. I would be heavily surprised if they did not try to rape staff. Full stop.
