I was hoping something like this would come out I'm gonna buy the stuff up and set it up the best i can then i'm gonna 3d print a case for it all and set it up tell this comes out! keep up the good work I know Ill enjoy using it when it comes out.

I just put in my order for the Arduino Uno R3 with the USB Cable Type AB and the RFID Module RC522 and only payed $2.15 because of coupons/gift card i got for free and using aliexpress I think I did some smart shopping!

@LoDeus
The RFID Module seems to be the right one
For the Wires i would suggest https://www.aliexpress.com/item/Free-shipping-Dupont-line-120pcs-10cm-male-to-male-male-to-female-and-female-to-female/32347691887.html? as they are insulated
The Arduino is a standard Arduino with AtMEGA 328 - should be fine when comparing to the OP

As there is no released Software from the OP you have always a risk of having components not supported (design changes), but having an arduino laying around is never a lost (go get coding) :D

Folks buying clones and random NFC522 boards - match your pin labels (SCK, GND, 3v3, etc.) on the boards you get - they might not match the AmiiBomb diagram!

Here's a $17 (shipped with Prime) combination kit from Amazon:

http://smile.amazon.com/dp/B01KXCLGHU
  • Arduino R3 clone
  • NFC522 board
  • USB A-to-B cable
  • Various headers and wires
  • NFC card and NFC keychain fob
You'll still need a soldering iron to attach the headers to the NFC522 board - and no guarantee the card/fob are useful at all - but it might be easier than dealing with AliExpress. I ordered their NFC522 board and will post results this weekend.

Thanks for putting this together OP - looking forward to the release!

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01EWOE0UU/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 I got this Arduino R3 hope this one works the same as the one listed.

Ahh finally, while searching on ebay a few months ago I came across the cheap RFID R/W and I thought if it could be used with a Raspberry Pi in some way to write amiibos. Good luck with the project! :)

well I think I should order my kit here , maybe they came after the program release xD the only problem is investment of 100 tags in one time :v well I guess some friends gonna win some "amiibos" here xD
7x Pin Wire Male-Female (around $1 for x20)
I'm a bit lost, the modules and arduino pins aren't all M? so we need F-F, right? (Maybe I don't buy these anyway, I can recicle from these "hddled", "porwerled", etc wires from old computers :v

Thanks bro. Don't usually do these things but im gonna give it a go aswell. Ive ordered 100 NFC cards off ali already a few weeks ago. Ill look around for the other parts on amazon or something. Any UK links to what people buy would be helpful aswell for a newbie like myself :grog:

Thanks for the wires, I never approached anything like that (soldering, technologic board or all), I may fd up that but I want to try this, it seems to be a useful low cost alternative, except that I don't think my parents have a iron soldering thing xD

Wow, its more than half the price compared to gear such as those power tag things, think i'm gonna get some more stuff from Ali later!

Also, about the 215 tags, are they a write-once kinda deal? (Like burning a CDR?) And also is there a way to use the NFC reader you stated but in a raspberry pi? I would hope so because of the IO ports...

I assume its a simple solder to attach the pins to the RFID module for the connection to the UNO, its a very simple solder job, it could be worse! (My first go was modding a DMG!)

this you cana sf for someone that have one where they repair eletronics XD
I'm not mcuha friend of soldering irons ... I don't have one but I can sue my work's one XD

Far I know, yes, it gonna be that "amiibo" forever XD idk how maslanders could made it reusable õ3o
