so ive successfully done this with my joy cons with 0 issues and after painting my pro controller i wanted to do the same BUT i can't even start the program because im not pairing them right? it gives me the error saying they are not paired though ive done the process 20 times trying different buttons struggling to try and trigger the software to read it however my pc bluetooth says its connected fine every single time, any advice? i figure the process would be similar as the joy con but i guess im wrong. i've followed the text instructions and all the youtube videos related(despite them being joycons in the video) but im just not having luck after 30 mins

hey guys
am having some issue with my right joycon, it's connected and home button flashing and am opening the app but in everytime i do refresh or "write colores" it give me the following massage "the device was disconnected!, press a button on the controller to connect and try to write the color again". please advise me
Is it a third-party Joy-Con?

So everything works however the pro controllers only rewrite as one solid color even though it gives me an option to make the grips a different color. Anyone have similar issues and have a fix?

Pro controller grip color changes do not work. The pro controller changes into one solid color and does not show the grips different colors on the switch. Switch and controller are updated. Anyone have any troubleshoots?

Pro controller grips won't seem to change for me, is there something I'm doing wrong? The handles just seem to copy the colour of the body.

Edit: Is it possible that the splatoon controller is somehow different? The other controller I did was a normal pro controller and it worked perfectly.

Edit again: After browsing through this thread some more I found an explanation and it seems to have worked for me (in case anyone else has this problem).

"A fix has finally been found for the Pro Controller color issue!

First, set your colors like you normally would.

Then, open "More..." and go to "Debug" to open "Debug: Custom Command".

Set the following:
Cmd: 01
Subcmd: 11
Then click on "HD Rumble Player". This is necessary to trick the program into allowing you to set the Subcmd to 11,
as it's normally disabled. Open "Debug: Custom Command" again
Subcmd arguments: 1B6000000102

Hit "Send" .You should get a Subcmd Reply starting with 80 11. You should be good to go then"

thank you!!!!

I could not backup my pro controller SPI. It will always stop at 64KB of 512KB and prompt fail to dump the SPI chip".

Does anyone have the similar issue?

I hope support for more controllers will show up.
I would love to edit my third party controllers, like 8bitdo and pdp, would be awesome

Hello, I have a problem. When I use these colors, I got that on my switch. It's strange because when I reconnect to joycon toolkit, it show the right colors but not on the switch. (originaly, my controller is the Splatoon one) 2020072420515400-1E95E5926F1CB99A87326D927F27B47E.jpg Annotation 2020-07-24 204939.png

I got a pair of 3rd party joycons that I wanted to change the color of with the JC Toolkit but each joycon shows up as Pro-controller in the toolkit (even though they show as joycons on the switch) does anybody know how to edit/hack them to let me change them to be joy-cons? I tried to load the backup from a regular joycon but it wouldn't let me. Sorry if this is a weird question.

Only official controllers supported

This thing doesn't seem to have the color values for the Neon Purple Joy Con built into it.

So here they are:
Body: 180 0 230 (B400E6)
Buttons: 20 0 20 (140014)

I don't think this has the Neon Orange colors in it either. I might be able to get those soon.

I did a herp derp and tried changing the color on a 3rd party controller, and now it's borked. But when I try to restore my backup it tells me it's not for the right kind of controller. Is there way I can override this safety feature?

I installed the Toshiba drivers and it caused me a blues screen loop. What am I doing wrong? I installed the 64x version. Is there an Android version of this?

I actualy managed to change the colors of my unofficial pro controller this is what I did:

1. Connect the controller like normal to your pc
2. Change colors you want
3. Hit Write Colors button (It will say it failed)
4. Hit disconnect button
5. Connect to your Switch

Apparently the controller still thinks it has those colors from the program when you disconnect

Good Day

Love the tool, been using it for almost a year with no issues.
Building a Mario Red/Blue Switch for my daughter, just converted a pair of gray controllers with new red shells but can't find the color codes for body/buttons for Mario red/blue. This is not the deep red of the old Mario Odyssey red controllers which came with black console/straps/grip. What I need is the new Mario Red/Blue that comes with ligher red (but not as light as neon) controllers, console, dock and blue straps and grip...

Does anyone have the codes for Mario Red/Blue or a have a Mario red joy-con they can read the codes out of?

Thanks in advance
Dave

Joy-Con Color Codes that I have not seen here yet.

Code = #HEXCODE (Red Green Blue)

Zelda Skyward Sword:
Left Body #2D50F0 (45 80 240)
Left Buttons #1E0F46 (30 15 70)

Right Body #500FC8 (80 15 200)
Right Buttons #00051E (0 5 30)

Mario Red & Blue Switch:
Body #F04614 (240 70 20)
Buttons # 1E1914 (30 25 20)

Neon Orange:
Body #FAA005 (250 160 5)
Buttons #0F0A00 (15 10 0)

Blue (not neon):
Body #4655F5 (70 85 245)
Buttons #00000A (0 0 10)

These are official codes direct from the Joy-Con themselves.

Last edited by Guidion,
I have a rather complete list of Joy-Con Color Hex Codes. I am looking for a few missing official ones, if anyone can help out. The ones I need are:

Disney Tsum Tsum (these may use the default neon pink/purple, if so I am good).
Dragon Quest (an earlier post lists these, just want to make sure it is correct).
Developer Black Joy-Con (I have #313131, #0F0F0F but would like to confirm).
Also want to confirm that Smash Brothers, Monster Hunter XX, and Thunderbolt Joy-Con show up as standard Gray.

Again, I am not looking for eyedropper produced codes (that are ALL Wrong in this thread BTW), but instead Official codes. I have MOST of the others if anyone needs them, but most have been listed before.

Thank you for the quick response on the Mario Red/Blue!

I just built a pair of Tsum Tsum joy-cons too, would love to find the official codes.

thanks all!
