I just put transparent cases on my JoyCon. Currently the Cons are displayed red on the switch. I want to change them to a more matching colour. What would you reconmend?

Hmm, difficult question..
Blurring an image of transparent joy-con yields a 151,151,151 color.

Dunno, but I think a light grey and black buttons is as close as it gets

any way to make this compatible with windows vista
why are you using windows vista?

I'd say a kinda washed out green to match the circuit boards or a very light grey.

I think you need the SDK but I’m pretty sure there was a homebrew converter somewhere in this thread
.jcvib is a custom format made by me.
It is explained here.

It's basically, raw vibration patterns that you can send directly (only parsing, no calculations) to a Joy-Con protocol compatible device.

And yes, to open them in jc toolkit:
There is a part in the open file dialog box that can change from bnvib to jcvib. A little drop down box
Like almost all other open file dialogs.

I have a little problem. My PC does not recognize my right joy-con. It found left one in like a second, but never finds my right joy-con :(
Also when dumping SPI, my left joy-con just disconnects. What am I supposed to do then?

EDIT: So I got it working now, but my switch does not recognise them as different color. they are still the same color (after restart). I wanted to make them white. The program sees them as white, but switch still sees them as neon joy-cons. What have I don't wrong?

For 2.3.0 and older, a restart is not enough.

You must clear cache by going to System Settings->Controllers and Sensors->Disconnect all controllers. Do a restart and then connect the controller.

EDIT:
I finally updated OP to include the "disconnect all controllers" info for older than 3.0.0 fw.

I used this tool to modify my left Joycon, but while backing up the right Joycon there was a connection error while I was away from the computer. Following that, I am unable to connect any of my right Joycons to my computer. Left Joycons still pair and work with the tool as normal.

I suspect a problem with the drivers in my computer but have no idea how to go about completely eradicating them and forcing Windows to get a fresh set of drivers.

UPDATE: Solved it myself within minutes of posting this. I forgot to restart after uninstalling drivers.

Yes. Everytime that it sends something it changes to breathing. But the communication is fast.
To really check it out, do a spi backup. Don't forget to rename your original backup though, because it will overwrite it.

oh ok got it this has to be one of the best additions to the switch modding to your personal pref thank you

Well, you need to check my new version then. It can also show you temperature that is read by joy-con.

I will release the binary here, when the red joy-cons are sold though.
Need one of you to dump its SPI for me.

WHAT? The JoyCon have temp sensors?
Yes. Inside the IMU together with ACC/GYRO.

It's pretty accurate also. When I leave it to rest until its body reaches room temperature (around 5-10minutes), it shows the same temperature with my weather station's room temperature.
So next release will also have this, as small redesign, full controls testing and more.
