I bought a ps2 last year during the covid outbreak, it was supposed to be my new fun time provider as there's nothing to do these days. It actually is gold, best idea ever, having so much fun playing old games, both ps1 and ps2.
I've basically had no technical issues until now that i got me a ToCA 2 Touring Cars.
It looks OK but sounds awful. You can't hear the engine, there's a strange high pitched sound that goes higher as i accelerate. Other sound effects seem to be working fine, the issue is only with the sound of the engine. When i start the championsip mode, there's also an issue with the commentator- it's basically an accelerated gibberish, no way to understand a word.
I think the high pitched sound could actually be an accelerated engine sound just as it is with the commentator.
I tried adjusting in- game sound settings, switched on and off everything that was there one after another and it didn't help- i can only have bad sound or no sound at all. Also tried to switch between RGB/Y cb/pb cr/pr option in the console menu and it didn't hel either- same thing happening.
I have two cables, one is the original one from Sony, the other is Retro Gaming Cables - RGB SCART PACKAPUNCH cable sync on luma. It's the same for both.
Does anyone have an ide what could be the issue here? Could it be the game copy? the CD seems to be in very good condition though.
The console is not chipped and all my games are original.
