What is life... Why do we live? Why do we struggle to only suffer? Men... how infinite in faculties, yet so little is known. If life is only made up of a series of sequential events repeating itself in a manner although chaotic yet can roughly fit into a pattern of mathematical model...

I think I am loosing it... I am entering a state of depression. It is weird, since I was always a cheerful and optimistic person. Recently I tried to find the purpose to life but I am having a hard time...

Anyone else are in the same situation as me?

I'm not in the same situation as you. However, I've just started a course in Philosophy, and you sound like you are thinking the same way as how all the great philosophers started out: Unhappy with the current understanding of the universe, they threw away all assumptions that Science, mathematics, etc had told them had to be true about the world, and thought about their position until they reached a conclusion that made them feel more at peace with the world.

Basically, do something you find therapeutic and think about the world while doing it.
BUT
if it's really depressing you, well I don't know. I've never really been depressed, although there is depression in my family. I can just offer you some sympathy I guess.

For me, the meaning of life is something like this:

We are given life in order to experience it. Sound confusing? Yeah, that's a little problematic. Basically, you live to find your purpose and go for it! And even if not that, there's stuff like just experiencing new things daily as best you can. One of the problems with living these days is that it's so routine that there's almost no point to keep on going because it's going to be the same tomorrow as it was yesterday. You go to school or work everyday, and you're doing those for most of your life. It's not really by choice, since you need a good education/job to offset the cost of living...

This is why you need to work towards injecting your life with interesting things or people. Part of the depression could be related to boredom, and even things you used to love (like video games) can lose their effect after a while. By doing new things, you might reignite your will to live.

Just my thoughts, I suppose.

Life is what you make of it. Don't just sit down and let the world pass you by (unless you want that) If you don't like how you are or what you're doing make changes and don't be scared.

I think what Doomsday said was good. Most of life is just experiencing it..the task of finding out what life is about and what our purpose is is the important bit, knowing the actual answer isn't important.


Just my 2c..don't really know what I'm talking about and my views change on the subject often

Live everyday as if it was your last.
I try to live by that and have as much fun as possible, but sometimes you do just feel really down and shit.

Pretty much do something you like that is fun, for me that is riding my bike. (i BMX) Just don't think about it anything too much, have no expectations, and expect nothing and live a life full of surprises (to an extent anyway) after all just remember you only have one shot at life no second chances.
