Shigeru Miyamoto, the man behind the Zelda series, has indicated that the development of The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword is half completed.

Nintendo still aimed for a release in 2011, but exactly when is unclear. This appears from a Miyamoto interview with Pocket-lint.
Skyward Sword by Miyamoto is a "large game" and he hopes the game so that gamers will play out several times. It is the first Zelda game made specifically for the Wii is being developed and will use the Wii MotionPlus controller. "Skyward Sword uses the MotionPlus in a way that you really feel part of the adventure, " said Miyamoto.

Twilight Princess looked like a huge improvement and going back to OoT from the surface, but the game felt like playing the OoT Kokiri forest over and over again without the people in it and without surprises to find

Let's see what will happen. At least Nintendo is trying to know what Zelda is. But Aonuma is there...

Man, I can't wait for this.

Twilight Princess was surprisingly dark for a Zelda game, so hopefully this will be a bit more light-hearted.

If this is actually true it makes me question their estimated release date of early 2011 seeing as the game has been in development since 2007. So either Miyamoto's statement is incorrect or their estimated release date is way off.

Loved the direction Twillight princess took, best zelda game in my opinion. Hope this will please me just as much.

That's so funny. Because I know A LOT of people who can't finish TP because is "too boring". Even me. It's so strange for a Zelda game.

Still got to, so close to the end

It gets kinda fun past the beginning.

Twilight Princess had its moments....I think they used that as a Skyward Sword test run....What I mean by that is that they'll probably build on what TP could have been cause I believe it had potential to be even better then OOT

Twilight Princess didn't remind me of OOT that much..

I'm a huge Zelda nerd. I've got the master sword. I've got the royal crest/triforce backpiece tattoo.. and.. I don't know, Skyword Sword just isn't doing much for me. Neither did Twilight Princess

.

I'm way more excited about the OOT 3DS remake. Which is sad - I don't understand why I'm not hyped for Skyward Sword the same way.
