I'm fairly new to this so I just have few questions.

Does this work together with USB Loader GX, or is this a different USB loading application. I guess if I was to say it harshly, is it another application that rivals USB Loader GX? If so, will certain games that didn't load on GX load on this or games that worked on GX doesn't work on this one? I really like the GUi from what I see, but I don't want it to mess up my USB Loader since I finally got Punch Out to work on my JP Wii with the recent revisions

Hi djricekcn,
basically this is another loader completely (unrelated to USB Loader GX) but currently it's not able to run any games, it's just capable of handling the covers - and the loader part will come later. I understand that all the loaders are based off of Waninkokos original loader so chances are game compatibility will be much the same.

Olywa

Thank you for the information. I knew that all the loaders are off Waninkokos code, but thought maybe the variations makes a difference in compatibility with some games. =)

Skizzo = yep - ur being a bit of a dick

Cyrex = seriously man - you know there will always be a few idiots on this board despite the many people that do actually contribute and the majority do appreciate the hard work you and other devs do (in your own free time) without finding something to moan about, don't let it get to you - you do an amazing job and most of us can see quite clearly what is the stable release and what the revisions are for

LOL. SYCOPHANTS UNITE!!!1!!

hello again; here is the very first release (called "Titlemenu WBFS"):

http://www.sendspace.com/file/fbwpvc

there are some small additions since the preview. i will make and upload a video tomorrow.
there are also some known bugs (please help me fill this out if you try it out):

a. covers that are not white in top left corner will cause untextured parts of box to be colored differently than white.
b. libfat is a little upset so currently its not possible to feed the menu cover images from sd card -- don't worry too much about this, instead it downloads them automatically and caches them on sd in optimized format for very fast loading after downloading the first time.

thanks for all the suggestions so far. i now have a list that i can work on for future releases. it is encouraging with all the nice comments.

p.s.: while the comparisons are flattering, my inspiration was not "cooliris" or any other gui. it was just an idea that i drew on two post-it notes some time ago. i saved them and have photographed them for the hbc icon. :} here they are in bigger size:

feature list (partial):

1. according to this thread, fun and easy to use interface :}
2. fast startup, asynchronous operation
3. antialiased rendering
4. full widescreen support
5. on-the-fly mipmapping, texture compression

now i'm going to bed. :}

just make this thing load games!
with ocarina support!
that would be a perfect loader.
it won't be bloated, it will be fast and beautiful.

Love the menu, best looking menu design so far IMO. Just tested your new release, seemed to work fine in my quick test.

One small suggestion when you highlight the game if it could pop up the title of the game on the bottom of the screen, with a lot of games it's hard to tell which game your on.

On my Wii it black screens when I hit the home button.

On my buddies Wii, which is moded just like mine, It only loads the star bg screen and the blue banner. No covers, not even the dummy ones.

Finally, is it supposed to be showing the backs of the box yet?

I love the looks of this thing! I can't wiat for it to progress... +1

it should return to hbc when pressing home. it may take a second or two but that should work fine. can you try again?

star screen without covers will happen if the usb device or wbfs interface fails to initializate. in that case titlemenu cannot read the list of titles from the drive, so for that reason there will be no titles in the menu. this can be because of two things: the drive takes longer than 5000ms to initialize, or wrong version of cIOS. i tested with cIOS rev10, so you could try to reinstall that on your buddy's wii.

the last question is also answered in the readme. you can press '1' to flip a box over to see the back. currently the program downloads only single-sided covers from djtaz's website, but once i have worked out a good solution for the small texturing bug mentioned in release post i will provide an option for full covers.

Nice loader dude..... very nice!!!!!!!

just a question: where to go if I want to force NTSC or patch the game?

Excelent framework.

Now it needs a "Auto Video Patch" option to roll (and offcourse...then downloable full covers)

Good job

FANTASTIC

been following USBLoaders for a while now and i have to say AWESOME

clicking 2 start i think to download cover again

A starts game

home takes you back to homebrew

things i would love see:-

back cover
when pressed A box opens and disc in side with cover aswell
HD info
zoom options, when 3 lines hard to make out the game
little lighter

few things

i would like to say keep up the good work

Awesome work.

I've tried compiling my own version from the source included above.
All I want to do is increase the USB init timeout slightly.

Unfortunately, I can't compile as I'm missing libtitlemenu. Have you released this?

kylling, please just do this and be my hero!
i just want 2 more fix/features and this will be my dream loader.
1. please add ocarina support.
2. i'm using forwarder to load this and when i hit home button, i exit to homebrew channel instead of wii menu.

please just do these 2 things and you will be my hero.
