I'm very "traditional" and one of my "motos" that I apply to daily life is: "if ain't broken don't fix it".

But for a change I've decided to try new things and I'm enjoying it.
I'm surprised by SAMSUNG's Web Browser (instead of Ópera) and EDGE in my Notebook is good (instead of Ópera), and Gemini is awesome that thing is utilizing my device's tools to set reminders, alarms, notifications, etc. My productivity has improved, and when you're like me, (someone who doesn't lose it's head because it's attached to it's body) it's a godsend.
Would like to invest in either an Alexa Speaker or a Google Nest.

But if I'm honest... Google Nest with plausible Gemini is more attractive than Alexa

Google always seems to do things well but have crappy advertising where Amazon products throw it in your face just for browsing other items. Also Amazon makes things at its cheapest where they know if it'll fail the customer will more than likely just buy it twice doubling their profit.

I do not have an Amazon Product (yet not interested) but chatting a bit with Gemini, it says that "it" isn't fully integrated in Google "smart devices", that they're still using the default "Google Assistant".

So I guess we'll start to see smart devices with Gemini soon.
Hopefully, by August we'll have an option, and it'd be a great birthday present from me to myself

All depends on the eco systems you're involved in. I go for cheap so I don't mind using Alexa products it becomes an entire hassle to switch. Once you go to one product you get involved with purchasing tons of others for that "smart" experience.

If I ever get whatever device comes with Gemini, I will definitely try to invest in more smart devices for the apartment. It'd be a nice modernization. My apartment has staid the same since 1991.

It depends on what all you want to do honestly, if you get one smart speaker for the bedroom you might want another in the living room. Then you might want to start looking into wifi doorbell for security, smart bulbs, toasters that can run doom with haxors all depends.

It's not like, Mexico gets all the devices you get, because most of them are left out for taxes/import tariffs.

You need to look into the Mexican version then Juanini. Some 3rd parties do support Google home which is the hub platform so it may work I'm sure you can find products in Mexico with it.

Edito: Como la alerta decía "SISMO SEVERO" me tuve que salir con Kiki y bueno...
