It's still able to do the same stuff regular cockroaches can do due to their open circulatory system. That's like if a human loses an arm and leg. They're still alive in the sense that they can still cooperate and be active

As i said, they don't feel pain like us, but they do feel something, whatever you may call it. Same goes for insects. When I said "they don't feel pain like us" the important part was "like us" not "they don't feel pain"
