Between Activision signing Bungie and EA signing Insomniac and Respawn Entertainment, we're seeing an emerging pattern of publishers aligning themselves with top-tier independent studios to collaborate on publishing new games, even if the publishers don't own the rights. THQ is jumping into the fray with the formation of THQ Partners, seemingly a nod to the EA Partners program.
THQ Partners will follow a similar model to the ones established by other major third-parties.
"I'm extremely pleased to join THQ and launch THQ Partners," said THQ Partners VP Tim Walsh, in today's press release. "I'm looking forward to working with a select number of world-class developers and publishers to distribute their great games through our global network."
THQ will begin meeting with developers at E3.
