I'm never ashamed to be a pirate and I'm most likely is going to be a pirate for a long time, at least until I have a better paying full time job. But as long as I'm a student and I'm not dependent on my parents, I'm going to be a pirate. Besides, everyone, in fact is a pirate wheater they know it or not. I'm pretty sure at least 90% of the Ipod owners just download their music via Limewire and other programs. But most of them don't even know that what they're doing is illegal. Does that make them less of a pirate than I am?

You know, up until 2005, it was illegal in Australia to transfer legally bought CDs to MP3 players. Given at that time there were no readily available download services to Australians (maybe allofmp3 existed, but I honestly don't know), you could pretty much guarantee that almost anyone who owned an mp3 player had at least one song on there that infringed copyright.

Most Australians were (and possibly still are) complete unaware of this.

While it might seem idiotic to people in the know, I can understand how people can think they are doing nothing wrong. If being unaware of the legal aspects of society makes someone an idiot, then either everyone is an idiot, or lawyers aren't going to have any more work.

As far as piracy goes, my family doesn't condone it, but they turn a blind eye, due to the fact that I can always get music and movies for them.
And as far as I am concerned, if there were no flash carts, I wouldn't have purchased a DS in the first place.

Yeah I'm a pirate and can also afford the games !

The reason I'm a pirate is that there are soooo many games that I've played and thought "geez that was $hit" and not worth the extortionate (sp) prices we have to pay in the UK ! £30 ($60) per game is high !

So the only legit carts I own are the ones i consider worth it !

bloody snob, just because you look down at people less fortunate than youself, you acuse them of mindless pirating, if it wasn't for the r4ds i would have probaly starved to death or something as i can't afford legit ds games, as someone has already mentioned, games in the uk are beyond expensive its rediclious, so next time, before you blab on about the less unfortunate, think about what you are saying.

^ Perhaps said rich person is a DS developer, and they would find it useful to be able to drag and drop to MicroSD to test games instead of using whatever painful method the Nintendo SDK offers.

At what point did I say I hated piracy? Just because someone can afford games, and turns to piracy does not make that person any worse than the person who's from a poorer background and involved in piracy. If you're dumb enough to sacrifice your health to buy a game, that's through your own stupidity, it doesn't justify being a pirate.

Well, there are 2 types of piracy[if we're talking about games]. First, the people that use flashcarts just to test the game and buy the real thing. Second, the people who just can't affort them. That is, in fact, real. Most people do piracy because they just can't afford games. But you can't say that it's just an "excuse". If it is "just and excuse" then why are they doing it ? Because they're so f*cked up and have no respect to the developer but only care about their own entertainment ? I don't think there are people like this here in GBAtemp, at least not that I know of.

Pirating is pirating no matter the reason. If you're dumb enough to put your very life in danger to play a few games, that's your decision. Grow up please, you have NO right to pirate games. There is absolutely NO good reason why you should download games from the internet that you don't own. Now if you own the original carts, that's a totally different story.
Why wouldn't a rich person buy an R4? The convenience of having all your games on one cart is great. Personally, I own many of the games I have pirated.
However, I never try to justify downloading the games I DON'T own. I'm a pirate and I'm not going to be delusional about it. He never says that he's perfect and he doesn't steal games, he says you don't have an excuse to download games. You might have good intentions, but that doesn't cut it.

If you can afford games, you should spend your gaming time and working/studying harder so you'll finally have the money to buy games. Games are not a right, just because you can't afford games does not mean that you should be pitied and given those games. There's only one type of piracy. Downloading a game you don't own is piracy PERIOD. There's nothing to argue about it.

If you're only trying out the games, it's not as bad if you delete it. However, whether you want to believe it or not, downloading anything you don't have the right to download is illegal. And it IS piracy.
