My r4 recently broke and i want to try out a scsd i have a couple of questions
can i make the supercard built in snes emulator be like snemulds?(like switch it)
Can my max media launcher launch the supercard sd?
Do alot of Nds dump work well on it (like compatability)
Is gbas compatability also good?
Can i run gba rom hacks?
Do they break easy?
Does its firmware get updated alot?
Does the supercard sd have troubles sometime reading the sd?
Can i edit the gui?
Is rtc supported for like pokemon emerald?

-There is no SNES emulator built-into the supercard SD. Most of the emus are outdated, plus they're easy to find anyway.
-I don't own a max media launcher so I dunno.
-EVERY NDS game works on the old supercards!
-I think I had a problem with one gba game, long ago. I think It was DK king of swing. Otherwise, EVERY GBA game works fine.
-never tried running gba rom hacks thru the patcher software, maybe someone else can answer that.
-No. My supercard CF lasted a good three years, my current supercard SD is like two years old, still working fine. (in fact, it's my main flashcart since my mom and my wife use my two R4s...)
-kinda. Be warned, it's *NOT* as comfortable to use as a microSD flashcart. But otherwise, updates are fairly current.
-probably if you have a bad SD card. I have a middle-range SD card (2gb sandisk), other than being slower than a CF to save your game progress, no problems here.
-I think you can... Since I am not interested in this kind of endeavour, I hope someone else can answer that as well.
-I think not, that was a big issue back in the GBA days IIRC.

honestly, why use a supercard, though? sure, it's reliable as all hell, that's why I keep using it, but buying one today, in 2008, when cycloDS, TTDS and all the other newfangled flashcarts are out there? Even if you don't like R4, I can guarantee that just NOT having something stick out of your DS, phat or lite, is a goddamn luxury.

The miniSD sits flush within a DS Phat or GBA while the SD one doesn't. The miniSD slot is located on top of the cartridge so you can remove the card without taking out the entire device, unlike the SD version.

The downside is that miniSD cards are harder to find good deals for, and you'll probably have to use an adapter to get them to fit in a card reader.
