I am well aware of Relokick which loads an old Kickstart version into extra memory to allow for older software to run via floppy, but this method of doing so feels inconvenient with having to constantly insert the disk each time, and that I am considering of having a permanent solution so I can change between 1.3 Kickstart and 3.1 Kickstart on my 500+ on the fly. At one point, I planned on installing a larger EPROM into my machine with a toggle switch to change banks.
Yeah hardware switcher is the ideal way to go, we had one in our 500+ too, but it's good to have options if you wanna play those games in the meantime

Boring responsible tech.

No, sadly. Saw it at thrift store, I asked if they had pullover or jacket that goes with this but they said no. Still worth it

Thanks you, bookmarking this. I suspect problem may be corrupted SD card, Ill check it for corrupted files / health when I get the time, and if SD card is fine then will move to port and maybe get new adapter just in case.

Fuckin' A chief, those sweatpants are PHAT!

As for the SD2Vita adapter, I've seen'em go bad before. At the absolute WORST you'll need a new microSD card and adapter, but that Vita is working JUST FINE. Be happy it wasn't the system! :)

I have the same Ugreen portable battery, and it's great. It's a great battery. I'm only worried that eventually the cable will die on it.
Same here. I bought an additional cable with the power bank with the purpose of keeping in the bag that came with the bank.

Forgot to take pictures after I got it, but nabbed a new "retro" PC:
7e6e31e4-a9f9-4753-af71-4527a0eadd2bthaf_10141(1).jpg

Packard Bell Force 54CD, based off the relatively common PB450 style board they put into a ton of their PCs at the time. Has:
486DX2-66MHZ
4MB of soldered RAM
Cirrus Logic GD5428 VGA chip
Aztech Sound Galaxy Washington 16 Sound card

Put one of my spare IDE->SD card adapters in it with a 2GB SD card for OS, as well as an 80GB IDE HDD for extra storage, and also put 2x 4MB RAM sticks I had laying around to bring RAM up to 12MB until I source something better/supported. Also ordered a Gotek USB Floppy Drive emulator and put FlashFloppy on it which is working great. The sound card actually seems pretty decent, has a Crystal chip on it for basic sound blaster support and a real OPL3 chip. Haven't had a chance to test it just yet, but hopefully seems like it'll have wide support for everything.

Ended up installing Win95 on it to get FAT32 support for the big drive, ideally I'd like to put 32MB of RAM in it, and I haven't decided if I want to slap a 100mhz 486 in it or not yet but we'll see how most games I want to play run before I make that decision.

It was all in all pretty clean, basically no dust on the inside and no rust on the bottom so was well taken care of, PSU fan still runs great, no major dings in the casing other than the missing bottom plate (which would have a spot for the power button....). Only paid $80 for it, which is basically a steal for something like this nowadays.

The whole rumcahata lineup

Is that an SD card of some sorts, as I see a microSD card in there? What's the benefit over store-bought card?

Had a 486DX2-66 laptop in the mid-90's. I remember frustration. mostly.

it's an Open source Flashcart. Which you can run backups and homebrew from the sd card.

Excellent! Awesome possibilities, although I've never owned a Nintendo hand-held except for the GBA, and that wasn't even backlit. Thank you very much good sir!
