I'd keep an eye on 3dbrew.org/wiki/Home_Menu/Themes as it gets updated
And yeah themes are able to be dumped and repacked as a .cia, you only need SD Decryptor. Theme files look like they get put under a different directory to installed games, on mine games were under title\00040000 and the theme was under title\0004008c. Files you want should be under 0000<numbers>\content\00000000, run the .app files with their xorpads, which will give you encrypted .cfas then you
Code:makerom -f cia -target t -major 1 -minor 1 -content <smaller-one>.cfa:0:0 -content <bigger-one>.cfa:1:1 -o Theme.cia
Or at least that's how it's worked for the two decrypted themes I've seen. Other themes might have more files, etc, I dunno, but this might be enough, at least for the themes that are available atm?
[MAKEROM ERROR] Content 0 is corrupt
makerom -f cia -target t -major 1 -minor 1 -content 00000020.app.out:0:0 -content 00000007.app.out:1:1 -o Theme.cia
hey can you tell me where i can get cia theme for jap console. cuz my 3ds reg is jap![]()
i assume these one will be zero key encryption, in which case you wouldn't need to use xorpads to decrypt them....actually idk the xorpads are for decrypting the content from the SD....whatever idk XD but i assume your content isn't decrypted or somethingI tried this and I get
Code:[MAKEROM ERROR] Content 0 is corrupt
Not sure if I am doing this right... I ran the .apps with their xorpads using padxorer and got app.out files. Dunno how to get the cfa files. this is the command I tried:
Code:makerom -f cia -target t -major 1 -minor 1 -content 00000020.app.out:0:0 -content 00000007.app.out:1:1 -o Theme.cia
thankyou very muchThe Japanese 3DS I bought had 400 yens on it (dunno why, as I created a new NNID account, maybe a gift for newcomers?) and I bought Zelda theme with a part of this money xD
If no one dumped it when I'll get my 3DS back (in a few days), I might try to dump it if you want.
So why are themes sharing the same id? Is it the way they are being dumped? Or is it like that on retail as well, and when you change theme it just quickly installs it over the top of the other?
I didn't know you could dump themes... If I had known I would have bought Shovel Knight here in EU which got a limited edition theme and could have tried to dump it for everyone. The deal ended TODAY.
UGH!
We can't even repack the original files without rendering them invalid, let alone edit them.So out of curiosity... has anyone been able to decompile the theme dump? I haven't even downloaded it so I don't know what sort of files it contains... but I am very interested in making my own custom themes.

(maybe it's some check Gateway didn't patch, i don't know)
If we simply pack the original CFAs into a CIA, it works. But if we extract their contents and repack them, the CFAs won't be accepted anymore (DevMenu will say the CIA is invalid).Huh... so you can repack ROMs but not CIA files?
http://3dbrew.org/wiki/Home_Menu/ThemesOh.
Well, regardless... what sorts of files are inside there? Is it possible to convert the images to something you can edit in an image editor? I'm sure at some point in the future it will be possible to repack them.
yeah, only for Gateway users.Am I able to get in on this or do I have to have a Gateway flashcart with 4.5 Firmware 3DS? I am on the latest update and do not own a Gateway, would like to install themes too but not gonna cry over it if I cant.
You guys get to have all the fun. Alrighty, I'll just find myself the exit and not look back on this.yeah, only for Gateway users.
yeah i'm not surprised that didn't work, 01 is not in use, i think ALL DLC uses the suffix -00 (i might be wrong)Changing the id to CTR-M-HMMP-01 didn't pull it off, but I assume that 01 is in use too then?
I again got the exact 0xD8E08027 error btw.
i think all themes share the same id CTR-M-HMMP-00 this is why you can only install one theme.
