I feel the wii scene is still in its infancy, True most of the hacks so far have opened the door for casual piracy but the great is still yet to come! Emulation could do with being ramped up as we have seen some great things appear that have remained dormant for a while

TBH this seems like one of the biggest years for the Wii since its launch time (which had SMG, LoZ: TP, MP3, etc). Let's take a look:

- Non-crap WiiWare games coming to America!: Overturn (which is out in Japan and utterly amazing), Pokemon Scramble (which is good), and Super Meat Boy (which looks really fun). Not to mention the recent amount of good titles coming out (Icarian, Swords and Soldiers, etc)
- Tons of releases!: NSMB Wii, SMG2, Red Steel 2, The Conduit, MadWorld, NMH2, Animales de la Muerte (not a lot of people know about this but it looks so fucking good), Wii Sports Resort, etc
- Emulator progress!: Notably WiiSX, which is the best 5th generation home console emulator for the Wii currently, and Wii64's demos look great.
- Wii Motion Plus: The biggest hardware update to the Wii since the Wii Fit

2010 will be even bigger. The Grinder, Gladiator AD, Metroid: Other M, Legend of Zelda Wii 2 (it's said for 2010 release so), and lots more.

I definately wouldn't say the Wii Scene has died, not yet.

i love it how ppl panic when there are slow spots in scene releases.
homebrew scenes never really die untill 2 or 3 if not more years after the console is last gen.
shit look at the ps2 it has homebrew and officially published games still being made for it and it should have been long dead.
factor in that the wii is at least as popular as the ps2 was when it was released and you got a whole lotta years left on it.

Bootmii has yet to be released.. (Officially at least).

I was wondering when this would be said and this is one of the most important so far as you know waninkoko said after the release of cIOS rev14 (the upcoming and final one) he will begin to work with bootmii. So we have alot to look forward to in addition bootmii is far from being completed so even though theres a few dry weeks (Which as stated above RawkSD and such were just relased so not really that slow) Does not mean that everything is dead.

There's still a lot of potential to be had with BootMii. So far the only unofficial app I've seen that uses it is cboot2. I'm still hoping someone writes a system menu that uses it.

But what about:?

- IOS36 Trucha Bug and ES_Identify on the LU64+? Way better than IOS16 with SoftMii.
- Thanks to the above, we can Install PreLoader on LU64+!!!


Installing cIOS has been growing very Well and we are waiting for cIOS Rev14.

Now on the other hand what hasn't been done yet, and I'm sure you are waiting for it like I do is Backups from Disc Channel on LU64+ Wiis (CIOS60 with DIP-Modules hack).

But we can only wait. Backup Loaders are fine just so you know.

WTF?! How much has happened over the past few months? Various (and customisable) USB Loaders alone is damn exciting. Bootmii has massive potential and is now giving people more confidence to hack their wii's without fear of permanently cocking it up! These people keep the need for mods and apps alive, therefore keeping the coders busy. It's people like you that doom it before it's ready to be. It's calmed down a bit I agree, but you have to admit that the scene has been hectic over the past few months. If it bothers you that much, YOU come up with an idea!
