That grip is a nice idea but I think it kind of takes away from the portability of the system.

Well maybe I just got a bunk GBA micro then, because my screen colors were very pale and washed out compared to my SP's, but the pixel density was pretty good, everything looked great on the tiny screen. The real rubber and plastic buttons felt quality, unlike the SP's shitty clicky metal buttons that corrode over time. And I would only ever get about 2 hours of playing Pokemon Emerald from the legit cartridge before it would turn the Select and Start lights from blue to red, telling me low battery. I bought the system new from a local Walmart, so I'm absolutely sure it hadn't been tampered with. It was only $50 during that black Friday sale too, in 2003... I should have stocked up on like 4 or 5 of them, had I known they would become such coveted little systems...

I have a GPA and a GBA SP and a DS and DS Lite.

Having said that I am enjoying GBA games more now that I play them on an Android TV box with GBA.emu

I have a proper controller on a large 1080P screen with a nice choice of filters to smooth out the rough edges and the sound is probably 1,000% better than the speakers in all but the DS Lite (DS Lite had the best speakers out of the GBA compatible systems so it's hard to get better than crystal clear. For sure my TV can get louder though lol)

Hardware VS Emulation issues at play here to some extent, but the GBA is super well emulated so in this case emulation is probably in the lead for a lot of people. Even using some sort of tablet and controller would probably be better than a hacked up DS Lite.

I wrestle with this issue in my mind once in a while, on one hand one of those new hardware GBA Flash carts would be awesome, but at the same time emulation is fantastic on like 20 devices I have.... I guess in my mind I am happy emulating the ones I can't get and collecting the ones I can find for a reasonable price to play on my real hardware if the mood strikes me. I haven't played with actual hardware in a long time, emulation is just that good and that convenient.

I have a few but right now my main one is my Tronsmart Telos the hardware is fantastic and I for some reason am not having like 90% of the issues reported on the forums over at freaktab. (Some people are reporting issues with lines on the screen in some apps but I never have seen them, but it could be because I am running 1080P and not 720?)

Really enjoying how snappy and fast it is. I am using a non stock firmware from Freaktab on it.

Oh right, that one seems quite top of the line in terms of specs! How is it with things like PPSSPP, have you given that a go yet? Am in the hunt for a new box that can run pretty much all the .EMU series plus a few of the newer ones.

I haven't tried PPSSPP on it yet, I tried it on my tablet that has the same SoC and it really was frustrating to me, all the games I wanted to play on the PSP where not compatible with PPSSPP. So I was not successful in testing it out.

One thing about the Telos I forgot to mention, the remote that comes with it is pretty useless and also everyone recommends those air mouse things.

I bought two of them because if they work that great for everyone else I may want to put them on other things... They do work well but I guess I was expecting Wiimote accuracy and it's not always as accurate. It's difficult to describe.

I guess to put it in words would be like if you had a sword and as long as you swung it at just the right speed it works great perfect even, but if your a little slow or a little fast your not going to get what you want.

So I ended up just using a regular wireless optical mouse and it works perfectly.

One thing I did enjoy was that Tronsmart controller the G01 it's very much like an Xbox controller with it's down side being I don't know how to turn it off when I am not using it.... lol so keeping it plugged in works nice when I am not using it.

More on emulation, pretty much everything runs as good as possible. What I mean by that is none of the emulation I have tried is held back by hardware with the exception of GameCube, but you need a shield Tablet or Windows Tablet to run that right and then your way beyond the 200 dollar mark lol I think with better drivers from Tronsmart or Onda (well from Imagination Technologies to be honest.) things will improve a lot. As long as the emulators get worked on.

Edit: Wait I did lie.... I played a PSP game and it worked fantastic called Strikers 1945. Worked perfectly and I completed the game on easy or something lol

Yeah I've tried a few of those air mouse things. Not overly responsive from the couple I had tried. I was thinking more along the lines of getting something like this when I get a new one of these boxes. I'd assume it would work being USB

You know... Not a bad idea at all. I might do that myself but I probably will get a full ball mouse thing (the ones you sit down) would make playing Marble Madness a bit more arcade like lol

Currently, I run an Original NDS (the ugly brick looking one) with an R4 for DS games, as well as NES, SNES, GB/GBC emulation, and a EZ Flash IV for GBA games in my slot 2. Only thing it doesn't do is link up with other GBAs

thats pretty much good enough. But you cant play pokemon black 2 with an R4 right? Im using a DSTT so that i can run pokemon black 2. Also, are you able to set reset keys for the EZ flash roms? I am unable to set reset keys to return to the menu.

So can i buy an M3 Perfect Lite and use that to make it compatible with GBA SP? and if so, will it be effectively the same as the M3 perfect SD?
