So I found my old Wii (RVL-001) in my closet and I plugged and hooked everything up to my tv and it booted right up. Keep in mind, this Wii has never been modded.

While cruising through the menus I noticed that it had a lot of old channels and game information, so I went into the settings menu and clicked the "format wii system memory". After the whole process a pop up came up saying that it was complete and that it was going to shut the system off.

Now I go to try and turn the system back on, but I am getting "the system files are corrupted.." screen. This screen is popping up on boot and I do not even see the Health and Safety warning screen anymore. So I cant even enter maintenance mode or anything. I've tried rebooting multiple times but I keep getting the corrupted screen on boot.

I am at a loss to find out that conduct a system reset corrupted my system files. I have no idea what to do from here... any advice/help is appreciated!

Is the text looking, well, corrupted?
What happens if you also hold reset while turning it on?

This is going to sound really weird, but I went to go and do this, but I held eject by accident, instead of reset, and now its working. I was able to get connected to the internet and update it. After the update, it's been booting up like normal.

I'm confused... but excited to have my system running lol.
