is it possible to extract the Initial Data bin file and the Certificate bin file from any XCI game file?
Nope. As far as I know, XCI file is part of the whole cartridge dump, therefore it doesn't have BIN files distributed with it nor they can be extracted from it.

Or this is only possible by using the dumper?
Either by using MIG Dumper or by running MigDumpTool on the modded Switch with the cartridge you're trying to dump inserted. There's also NxDumpTool as well.

Thanks Blythe93. So Initial Data and Certificate are NOT integrated in the XCI, right?
So if someone lost or breaks the game cartidge it's necessary to re-buy the game?

As far as I know, yes, they aren't integrated in the XCI but as a whole cartridge dump.

Unless you've previously made a full dump, yes.

I'm not entirely sure as I haven't tested it myself (I don't even have a MIG Switch to begin with) and I merely recall what I've heard over time from various places but mostly GBATemp:

The only part that should be the same between cartridges are the XCI file and Initial Data file (provided it's for the correct region, has the same update and/or DLC included, has same revision and whatnot), As for the rest of the bin files, they should be unique for each cartridge i.e. I doubt that two of the same files with the same hashes exist.

Again, I might be wrong so you might wait for someone else to reply.

I wonder if unlock will beat Christmas

I’m ordering a MiG v2 for a friend of mine so I can share my library with her but the sleep mode bug is a big issue still
Isn't to late already? I know the flights from China are like PACKED now.

Oh no is it!? That would explain why my recent Aliexpress package hasn’t been having its tracking update as fast as the one a few weeks ago

I’ve never ordered from aliexpress this much until recently so I’m not familiar with the nuances

The only good thing on AliExpress is that the stuff usually arrives and if for some reason it doesn't so far I've been able to get a refund. ETA can be from 2 weeks to 2 months.

yeah ali's size means they care VERY MUCH about customer feedback, where the slightest negative review skyrockets them thousands of places back on the SEO.

Can't you just play anyway?? Ignoring the download prompt??
Sometimes you can ignore and play anyways, sometimes you can't, it will still require the update to play. Since the unit is banned anyways, I'd just leave the internet off/ delete WiFi settings and the Switch won't look to see if updates available/ required.

Is anyone getting this with the Dumper on Windows 11, even after the 1.1.6 update? Interestingly, the update is 119KB, but when I drag-and-drop it, wait for the light to finish flashing, unplug and replug the dumper, the file shows as 279KB. I have tried updating it on both Android and Debian to no avail.

you can read the previous post, the late firmwares have a problem which can cause the collision.

you can solve temporally the problem by using diskpart to change the collision and put online the disk:

https://www.minitool.com/news/fix-disk-signature-collision-problem.html

it's on the post:
https://gbatemp.net/threads/the-swi...-switch-unlockswitch-etc.651852/post-10512407

Additionally a file of 200 bytes can be shown on your disk as 32Kb, 512Kb, etc, that have to do with the cluster size of the current partition format, the cluster is the minimum quantity of information you can write on disk, each file is stored as cluster size chunks and the last one will use on disk more space than the file data size. That's why Windows on the properties of a folder or file shows you «Size» and «Size on disk»

Hi guys, I've read a few pages, but unfortunately I haven't found any suitable answers. Without reading all 90 pages,
can someone please help me with the following questions?

Do only certain games work with the Migswitch or all Switch games?
Does the Migswitch work with the latest firmware 19.0.1?
Can the Migswitch function be disabled with a firmware update from Nintendo?
Can the games be updated and are DLCs possible?

I appreciate any help, thank you guys!

All cartridge releases work, so long all as the required files are present.
Does the Migswitch work with the latest firmware 19.0.1?
Yes.
Can the Migswitch function be disabled with a firmware update from Nintendo?
Unlikely, but possible. It's more likely that new games will not be compatible with the Mig Switch, but Nintendo haven't done anything yet so I also consider that unlikely.
Can the games be updated and are DLCs possible?
Updates are possible but only if the console isn't banned. There is no safe way to pirate and bans are extremely likely. Pirating DLCs is not possible. You can still buy DLC, I guess.
