Honestly never purchased or plan to purchase a mig, I play very few games and with steep discounts in the US I can often get them at no cost taking advantage of GameStop b2g1 sales. A potential ban isn’t worth the risk for me personally.

I think my comment got deleted because I was responding to a guy who got deleted, but I am also probably going to guinea pig this. I'm not out of a house for $60 and I already went through the pain of buying crypto once before

Soo I've updated the Mig to the 1.1.6 version posted on their website, placed the update.s2 file and the led flashed blues and then turned off

After that i used the torrent called Mig Switch Game Collection to download Mystery Dungeoun DX

My switch is completely offline, soo when i put the cart in, it detects the game but when launching it and waiting for it too boot up, it gives me the error of the software had a unexpected error

Soo any tips?

I have the 4 bin files and the xci.

1, Since you have updated and seen the blue led - that tells you the sd card is good! and the MiG can use it! (NO BLUE LED MEANS THE SD CARD IS NOT GOOD FOR THE MIG)
2, try another game, maybe that game is corrupt! I don't use the shit on the net as you don't know if it's mixed and matched files in the folders!
3, you can remove the update file as you do not need it on the sd card any more!

Have you tried multiple SD cards? I don't have one personally, but it sounds like the MIG is really picky about which ones work based on what I've seen in this thread

The sd card he is using is good! as it updated! no update then the card is not good in the MiG that's how you can see if the sd card is not good for the MiG

some info on updating the MiG cards! If you update the card say to 1.1.6 and the LED Is Blue then its updated! if you try and update the card again you will not see a blue led, it will go a slight white orange... it's telling you its updated already! Once updated you can not go back down also! The only time you will see a blue led again is when there is a new update out! (1.1.7)

1.its a sandisk 128gb
2. Yup, its on exFat
3. I have the game folder ending in .xci, the contents on the folder are the 4 bin files and the game xci

Thank you for your answer. After checking a certain website that has a torrent file that contains a library of games, it seems that updates can be embedded into the game files. Is this true?
Not for a migswitch since you alter the game files and therefore them signing

No that won't work for the Mig, Not sure about Unlock yet, but doubt it will work either. Embedded NSP/ Super XCI only work for modded/ chipped Switches.

Sounds like a Mig might not be worth the money, if you eventually will get banned, and can't update games anyway?
Depends on how you'll use it.

If you're making full backups of your own games and placing them on MIG Switch, therefore using MIG Switch as intended, you'll be good.

However, if you intend to use publicly available dumps (preferably full, not mixed i.e. XCI and initial data from one game, the other certs from another, donor game), there's a risk that you might get your console banned, especially if there's someone else playing the same game at the same time. I'm not sure if staying offline matters in that case, not sure if telemetry collects data about when and which game you've played. If your console is banned, you'll be able to get game updates: 1) if they are available on the official cart or 2) by matching the version locally with another Switch that has the game on a higher version. DLC, however, will be available only if it's on the cart already or you've legally downloaded it from the eShop before you got banned. Note that, even if your console is banned, you can still and will receive firmware updates.
