Okay, didnt have AKAIO 1.8.0 lying around on my HDD, but just DLd 1.8.1 to test the unpatched rom on my old AK2i and it seems to work just fine.
I just startet a game and looked what happens with the entertainmentbar when I let a Sim watch TV and it got up with arrows so I assume it should also work longterm.
So, just update to AKAIO 1.8.1, enable Anti-Anti-Piracy in the Systemsettings and you should be good, I hope.
EDIT: Just did some reading on the newer AKAIO and seen that you also just can activate the AAP only for that rom through where you activate cheats and such before starting the game, sorry been a bit out of touch with my old flashcarts since I got a DSTwo
