I've gotten this same problem using both Preloader 0.29 and the latest Priiloader (which is what I am currently using). I have doubled checked the hacks.ini code several times, and I am using a version with the proper line breaks (dos style, not unix). While most of my hacks seem to work (i.e. move disc channel, region free discs, etc...) when I boot out of region discs using the Disc Channel (loading PAL games on a NTSC box), the region is not getting forced to NTSC, it loads in PAL. I have the Force Disc Region hack enabled and the out of region disc DOES show up in the Disc Channel, and the animation works properly prior to loading. I have tried the Force IOS 249 hack, and tried loading SystemMenu using IOS 36,60,222,223&249 via Priiloader...all still don't stop the disc from loading in PAL.

I have cIOS 249 (wanikoko's rev14), 222 and 223 (last two via Hermes v4 222 using 37&38 merged, 223 using 37&60 merged), cIOSCORP v3.5, Priiloader, BootMii as IOS, etc...

Any help or ideas are appreciated.

Hi, I have updated a 3.4e wii to 4.2e and patched IOS70 etc. I tried to install priiloader v15 but first it code dumped then on the second attempt it seemed to install ok. Now when I start the Wii it goes into the priiloader menu but if I select 'system menu' it just refreshes the priiloader menu. It will load HBC but when I try to go to the system menu from HBC it loads priiloader menu.

This has now happened on 3 wiis I have updated. Another 6 I have installed priiloader onto have been fine??

Any ideas why it is doing this?

Also, I went to install preloader v29 it loads the warning screen which says to turn off the wii if you don't want to install but it doesn't say which button to press to install preloader?

Help required!

have you tried pressing 1 twice in the warning screen

installed priiloader following xzxero's guide, but now system starts in preloader every time, how can correct that, i guess i can leave with that if i absolutely have to, but i believe i've seen someone before saying this could easily be fixed.

Most importantly can someone help me or is there an existing post about choosing which System Menu Hacks should be enabled/disabled

thanks

P.S. should i consider updating it to 0.2

just answered your question on preloader on one of your post regarding autoboot setting in preloader. regarding preloader hacks, it is really up to you what hacks you want to enable. i think the hacks.ini items are all self-explanatory. i only use preloader hacks to enable skip disc update and region free games.

It gave me this when i tried to save settings:

Error autobooting systemmenu!
ES_DiVerifiy failed! no ios with it patched?

But now it seems to be working.

by the way on the other string, you said you use neogamma (i still have R4 channel even after the tutorial, it reads all the games but when i try to actually play one it just gives me green screen and freezes, or green and then blakc and then nothing) any suggestions

thanks

sup, shitting my pants ATM so I need a reply ASAP.
I recently booted up preloader and I'm still using ver .29. So it asked me to update and I thought "why not?" So I did and it's been sitting there for 10 minutes saying "downloading changelog".

I don't think that changelog's gonna download. And I'm freaking out.

Is it safe to turn off my Wii while it's saying this without the risk of bricking my Wii?

EDIT: Yeah, turns out from reading threads that the update function doesn't work

lol whatever it kinda errored out and brought me back to preloader so I could copy files with nosave flags to an SD. hell yeah

Is there any reason to install Preloader if I'm just running games strictly off of an external hard drive? Also, is there a guide somewhere for installing Preloader if you're already on 4.2U? Installing 0.30 returns this error that other users have mentioned: got root; unable to read ticket: aborting mission. Is the safest way to install 0.29 and then install 0.30? Just want to be extra careful with these steps as all the other softmod apps are working thus far, but if it's not needed then I'd much rather skip it entirely.

I finally got around to installing preloader and it works great but now how would i go about getting the normal system menu back. I can't figure out where its gone and why when i select system menu it just resets preloader.......any help would be appreciated. Even how to uninstall it for it says it cannot restore system menu.....aborting mission.

well thanks for nothing........i used my nand to restore everything.

Hi I am just now getting ready to install the Preloader. Can someone explain to me what this does? It sets up a different system menu for my wii? I used to run a cyclowiz and I had all my games on disc. After I updated to 4.2 I was forced to downgrade all my IOS and then use a USB loader for mario and games. All of my games that I used to play ask to do a system update which i don't want to do because it will mess up my HBC again I assume.

Do I have to do the preloader for each game or just once? For step 2.a how do I determine which region I'm in?

Thanks for the help.

Preloader loads before the system menu, but you can set it to autoboot the system menu so you'll never see preloader. (Unless you have a brick, at which point you'll be glad to have it ^^)

However, you still need updated IOS's for newer games which run off 4.2. Games don't run on system menu's, but on updated IOS's.

Priiloader has a forwarder channel and the ability to boot from hbc, which I've been using for a while now with random bugs and all....does preloader .29 jodi have anything like this?

I can't finally understand whether system menu 3.4 isn't compatible with preloader v30

Tried with + and with B+ with the same result:

Unabe to read ticket, aborting mission...

Meanwhile other things like usb loaders work fine.

get preloader 0.29 , boot HBC and update to 0.30
or install priiloader

see my signature for links to every worthwhile version of preloader/priiloader

note: u can probably install priiloader without having to install preloader 0.29 first, but if u want to instal preloader 0.30 you will need to install preloader 0.29 first (fyi, priiloader is newer than preloader 0.30, and the version available in my signature have been reported as stable by many people)

Thanks, Daco. Yeah, I tried with preloader v0.29 but it only shows the disclaimer and then doesn't offer something to press to go further... maybe I should had use RestoreTruchaBug before installing

And thank you xflak40 for offering your ultimate bundle... of course I would have preferred priiloader at least because is is an evolution of obsoleted preloader. But my problem is that I am not sure that priiloader is compatible with my firmware 3.4.

I am afraid of breaking, and simple googling by priiloader 3.4 returns many nice conclusions including the following:

...The developer never made Priiloader compatible with 3.4 so it will never work on that system menu...
...If you are on 3.3 or 3.4 then you must update now - DO NOT install priiloader until you have updated as it will cause untold problems...
...v386 Sys Menu is 3.4. There are no hacks for 3.4 and Priiloader actually corrupts the Sys Menu loading...
