Hmm, going by the posts in this thread it would seem that my having never issued a like (and if I have it was in error) and instead replying to someone if they have created something of passing notability (and my having something worth saying on the matter at hand) is a bad thing and I may be helping to render the whole system pointless.

I had hoped it would be achievements/trophies that I would end up bringing down but I guess I will settle for kneecapping a likes system.
