Every wondered whether you're a left-wing or right-wing thinker when it comes to politics? Here is a quick test to show your leanings!

http://www.politicalcompass.org/

My results :

Economic Left/Right: -6.38
Social Libertarian/Authoritarian: -3.03

edit : Oops, almost forgot to add - thanks to CAS for reminding me about this test!

lol, I never took the time to think of myself as either.

I hate politics!

But then, America has it slightly different.

Though I admit I saw some orthography mistakes here and there which made me question the validity of this test.

I would have killed for a "in the middle" option sometimes.
Also, is it me or has everyone who has taken the test except me was a libertarian leftist?

I don't think it's meant to be 100% accurate, more of a quick generalisation that shows a reasonable reflection. I did a test similar a long time ago and it listed me as left thinking but authoritative. There's alot of questions and detail that are missing.

Liberty seeking socialists!

lol You did end up with a reasonably centrist position. I know this might seem like an odd question but are you religious?

Depends on what you mean by "religious". I don't follow any religious movement, but do believe in a higher being.

Ah no, I was thinking you might have been Jewish/Christian/Muslim. I think some of the "authoritative" marks come from some of the questions which seemed to stem from religious beliefs such as opposing homosexuality.

QUOTE(murkurie @ Mar 1 2011, 02:54 AM) I answered all of these honestly.

*snipped for space

This is roughly where I'd expect alot of Americans to place to be honest with. Although as more take the poll I'll probably end up eating my words! lol

I'm not too sure about that actually, depends more where there from I think, my college would be economically with me, but on the left. People in the Midwest and south are usually/stereotypically right winged. and the coasts are generally more left wing in my experiences of travel around this country.
I was surprised it didn't say I was more right. I've taken this quiz before, and its the same as last time.

Quite accurate. Though I thought I would be a bigger libertarian.

Did you choose options like limiting corporations powers?

Interesting. I always thought America was a more majority right country. It's the problem with trying to judge how people on the street think from reading/watching the press, news channels and the like. So I'm guessing the country itself, rather than the government, is alot more open to left-leaning thinking than the "vocal majority" and the press show?
