Well since Persona 5 has officially been revealed, I thought it would be appropriate to move all Persona discussion to this thread.
So ITT: We discuss Persona 5 and what we expect to be in the game.
-UPDATE 05/02/2015-
First gameplay footage:
5 rows of 5 chairs maybe it means something?
Maybe 25 playable characters(not likely),25 social links or it could mean absolutely nothing.
Yeah, that's probably it.maybe it could represent a classroom, since school is half of the Persona games.
All I know is that a whole year of waiting hurts.
All I know is that a whole year of waiting hurts.
This!
Fortunately, Atlus has three Persona related games spread out throughout next year. But it's not enough ;_;
Actually 4 Perasona games + DS2 Remake.
Dunno how they manage to make 5 games at a time.
They also did the same thing with Persona 3.It irritates me a little bit how Atlus can't seem to stay on generation. By the time this game comes out it's at least a year into PS4 and yet coming out on 3. They did the same thing with Persona4.
It's a silly thing to get ruffled about but they could have made such a better game if they made it with less hardware limitations.
So maybe you'll actually interact with your entire class? Not saying they'd all be playable characters but like, maybe they'll all have a little importance?maybe it could represent a classroom, since school is half of the Persona games.
When was that article on that "major" game going to be released? Dangeki or Famitsu, right?
That all came from seeing the few new Persona spin off games.I'm really glad that everyone loved Persona 4 and how different it was and how it has raised the bar for RPG's and ATLUS is general, but I pray it does not become the next Final Fantasy VII, getting movies, OVA's, spin off games, a prequel, several ports, and idiot fanboys begging for HD remakes.

The chairs in the trailer are in a classroom of a high school and the theme of the game will be centred around the chairs and chains.
They are trying to make a game which is using the chains a sort of catalyst to send a burning and unforgettable message to the players: The chains represent the ordeals in your life. You have to overcome them in order to unshackle these chains. (Not exactly the most literal or accurate translation for the chairs/chains motif, but I think I’m close to what Hashino-san is trying to convey?)
Even though the game will still be taking place in a high school and revolve around the high school life, however the atmosphere of this life will be completely different from the others.
- Persona 5 started development after Catherine’s ended in August 2011.
- At that time they wanted to develop it for the mobile. (I think here he means portables (Vita/PSP) than mobile phone.)
- However, they realised that majority of the fans/players wanted HD, so they decided on developing it for HD machines (aka PS3) instead.
- There is a hint hidden in the 5 chairs and chains.
- They are aware that a lot of people are hoping that Persona 5 can be released on the next generation machines (AKA PS4), however they have very limited development resources and are unable to do it.
- The specs for PS4 are wonderful.
- There will be more information for P5, at the start of next year.
