As for FFTA2, the All Jobs Mastered code doesn't work. And the All Items/Weapons/Access code freezes the game upon start up.

If someone else can confirm this (I don't play this game), I will remove them.

No use being in the dat if they don't work.....

..this is one of the issues that needs to be sorted in the dat. I really want to elimiate non-working codes. I'm just too lazy to test them myself....especially on games I don't play.

From what I remember, the codes for the translated one didn't work. However, I also remember that one of their releases didn't need a new Game ID, also, the All Jobs Mastered code required that Real Time Cheats workaround.

It's good to see the Top Toy DS (TTDS/DSTT) flashcard also uses the R4 cheat.dat (just decrypt the CHEAT.DAT to USRCHEAT.DAT and place it in the TTMenu dir.)

If all flashcards supports a uniform cheat database, it would be much easier to maintain, for all

Hey Rayder, I was wondering if you could also provide an alternative link to the CHEAT.dat without it being RARed. DSOrganize has all the required functions to allow us to update the CHEAT.dat on the go without a computer, as long as there is internet access around. Only problem is that DSOrganize can't open RAR files.

Good Idea!!
Then we will have online updateable database =)

Added a few more codes to various games in the dat....

..also added a link to a plain cheat.dat file for those that want it through DSOrganize. It is the latest updated of course. It is found in my sig as "CHEAT.DAT".

It must be understood that there is a size limit to the dat. 4MB is the rumored limit, but I feel it is less than that in actuality. When you take into account the skins and other functionality of the flashcart running in the background, then the limit is likely to be less that 3.5MB.

If we add cheats to EVERY game in the DS library, it will likely cause the dat to be too big to continue working. We are already at 2.23MB.

When that happens, the dat will cease to be something that can just be dropped into the flashcart and expected to work. It will become a reference dat to copy-and-paste out of for your own dat. This is why it is important for everyone to learn to use the editor for themselves.

Now, I will happily add any codes into the dat that people may come up with, but it is inevitable that the time will come when the dat is too big to run as as.

We could just not put in codes for games that NO ONE uses like my dolphin rescue pet agency, etc.
Or, when the CHEAT.DAT gets full you could just switch back to a usercheat.dat and start using that. It could probably be the same size.

Just an idea. Cant you make multiple archived Cheat.dat files like make one for games 1-1000, then make another one for games 1001-2000 and so on. That would split up the file sizes and people could just download the Cheat file thats relevant to the game # they want cheats for.

But then if they have a few ROMs with codes from the first dat and a few with codes from the second, they have to switch dat files between games.

We're not having any problems yet, so the worry is premature at this point. It's just that once it does get too big......I figure then it will have to be used as a reference only and not a drop-in dat.

We'll cross that road when we get to it.

Tried update cheat.dat from DSOrganize
Work great!!!

Anyone know how to save link/bookmark in DSOrganize???
because it will be nightmare to type url in every time.
Edit: Just found in browser help...have to edit in DSO folder.
