Just a concern, if and when the cheat.dat file becomes to big. You mentioned loosing the drop in support and becoming a reference file.
So we all should get used to using the cheat code editor.
Well I have a mac and the cheat code editor is a p.c. program. When the time does come I hope you do decide to have a split file

Wait, can't you, when the cheat.dat ceases to accumulate, make a new usrcheat.dat from scratch? Like, if the cheat.dat ends at game 2000, then the usrcheat.dat will have 2001 and so on. Unless, the total size of both cheat files has a limit.

The Cheat Editor was surprisingly easy to use. The only difficulty I had was finding codes for the games and that was solved by using Rayder's CHEAT.DAT file. Lazy people!

EDIT: Can somebody list what all flashcards this dat can work for now? With the added xml file, it's more than just the R4/Ms Simply.....and I seem to remember reading that one of the new slot1's can use the R4 dat straightaway, but which other cards?

Top Toy DS. Uses the usrcheat.dat, just like the R4, so if you like them cheats that can be added and customized, get a TT.

R4/M3 and TTDS use the usrcheat dat straight away.

M3/G6 real can use the cheat combiner to make a db from the xml.

If I'm not 100% off my rocker, the official AR software should be able to handle importing the xml.

IIRC SCDS1, NCARD style cards and EZ5 all won't be able to use them as is since they use .cht files.

Not sure about what cyclo or AK RPG uses for cheats.
