The same thing happens to me (m3 simply latest firmware; with and without r4custom) with TWEWY, Worms Open Warfare 2 and Wario Master Of Disguise [either game both (E) and (U) versions and trimmed and untrimmed versions). What's wrong? I've also tried using USRCHEAT but the results are the same...
(*1) = [SELECT] and press the "Operation Room" -> "Chalk Talk" and select forward and final mission
(*2) = code is used to save and display data selection feilds "*" mark is displayed.

yes, you need to add the asm hack code to every single game which you want to use the backlight codes on. unless you can get the m3 team to fix this problem or wait til Sakura comes out and see if fixed the problem since it'll support *.dat cheats like R4

Hey Everyone,
I have a solution for anyone having trouble getting the cheat files to work on their DS (Any R4 etc) while using a Mac. When you unzip the (ex.) MM_DD_YY_CHEAT.DAT to get the dat, it is unzipped as a .DAT file. But, this is actually the folder containing the CHEAT.DAT, changelog, credits txt, and GBAtemp URL... but it looks like a DAT file. You need to right-click and 'Show Package Contents' on the file to access this folder. Then put the CHEAT.DAT in your _system_ (etc.) folder.
I have checked all of the downloads on cheats.GBAtemp.net, and they all have this problem on a Mac. I think the problem arises because the name of the folder ends in a .DAT extension, which makes the OS treat it as a file instead of a folder. But if you're having difficulty getting the codes to show up, try this method out.
PS - Narin, could we get a new renaming system for the folders inside of the .zip files? Thanks!
on a mac, if a zip file has more than one file, it makes it a folder with the zip file name. Since the zip file's name is ___.dat.zip, it unzips it as a folder with the folder named ___.dat Its kinda obvious. Unless it only does that on leopard, as i do not have leopard.
To fix this, just make the folder name 7-27-08.zip (for example) or
cheatdat_7-27-08.zip
usrcheatdat_7-27-08.zip
cheatxml_7-27-08.zip
and so on. Then the folder would be
7-27-08
cheatdat_7-27-08
And that would solve the problem. (just remove all dots except for the one before the .zip)

For those having problems with some games not showing up like Yu-Gi-Oh and so on, you have two options. You can either get a new flashcard that doesn't have a buggy cheat system and have a limit for the number of cheats and games it displays or edit the cheat file manually and either move the games you want the cheats for to the top of the list or delete the games you don't need.
Heres a list that is always up to date of all the games that have cheats in the cheat database so please check this before you post about games not having cheats: http://cheats.gbatemp.net/GameList.txt
i apologize for my stupidity i just made my own cheat.dat and now all cheats are appearing
so for r4 users just make a cheat.dat of your own i guess r4 has some kind of limit that can handle an amount of cheats
