Well, I found a tutorial for it here.

That's mine

And yah, that's a little bit harder to find since it's in a different post from the main Sakura FAQ.

Can someone help me out. I've regressed to total nub stage.

I cannot play GBA games. I have a GBA folder and .gba games in there, but when I choose a game it loads up to the Game Boy boot up screen and makes the chime but there is no Nintendo logo below and it just sits there. I have the M3 DS Real and the GBA expansion cart which I haven't used in a year or so but last I did use them there was no problem.

Any idea what I need to do to fix this?

I had the same problem, make sure the GBA Expansion is inserted perfectly in slot 2. Maybe take it out and insert it again.
I'll try that, but it should be in there well. Would a dead battery in the expansion possibly be the culprit or could I be unlucky and had my GBA expansion die somewhere along the lines?

The 7zip vs Winrar poll is completely bullshit. Winrar can even compress the files more, when the correct settings are used. Also, 7zip is compatible with ALL OSes. I'm not sure about winrar.

Also, check this:
http://gomeler.com/.../file-compression-review/

That article seems to focus on RAR over 7zip on the merits of RAM/processor load, not degree of compression (which the author has 7zip winning, but only mentions it as an aside in one line). I just extracted the 7zip I had of the Sakura system files on OS X and Ubuntu and didn't see the full utilization spikes that he did. Sure the RAM usage shot up a good bit for the 2 seconds it takes, though I hardly consider that an issue.

You're right on them being compatible across all systems, though not always from the native developer which is where I think that 7zip info comes from. Third party options exist for both file formats across every system I've ever used.

As far as I know, the Nintendo logo not appearing is not a symptom of a dead battery. I got my GBA Expansion Pack two weeks ago so I can rule the battery out. If you had troubles with savegames, well, THAT problem would be attributed to the battery. The missing Nintendo logo is most certainly a problem with the card not inserted correctly. It can also happen to original card owners and has happened throughout all of Nintendo's handhelds. You may also try to carefully clean the contacts of the Expansion Pack, here is a good tutorial how to achieve this: http://www.wikihow.com/Clean-a-Gameboy-Cartridge

does anyone know how to convert moonshell 2 skins to work with sakura?

I don't think you can.

EDIT: Would anyone help out if I added a M3 Sakura section to the gbatemp wiki?
You can't
And I will help you out

dumb question, is there a way to change the opening sequence on sakura, the pink graphic that play when it's loading sakura, changing the skin don't seems to change that opening sequence.

I just get tired of being make fun of when some a$$hole see me starting sakura

I remember I installed a skin that changed it once.
I downloaded it from the skins section of this website in fact, when there was one.

As far as I know there is no skin that can change the booting logo for Sakura and I have been looking for one for quite along time.
So please provide the source or an uploaded file containing this skin that you claim changed the boot logo.

So Moonshell2 splash.ani's don't work (somehow I feel dumb for not having the ability to confirm this stuff, I seriously should just get a new DS xD)?

i Just recently received my m3 ds real perfect bundle and set up my sd card with sakura, my problem is wholly with the gba expansion. Everytime i load a .gba rom from my GBA folder it only gets as far as reading GAMEBOY on the top screen, it will not load any further. i have the ram expansion in slot-2 and everyother emulator and NDS rom runs fine. please if anyone can think of a solution or any advice at all it would be much appreciated. Thanks
