Good, now I can direct people that ask "y iz hulk game no workin'?" to this topic, Isn't me nice? Though most won't even understand what to do....so, I rather tell them to wait for a firmware update

It currently only works on M3 Real with Patched version as explained in the first post but ensure you have the soft reset etc disabled when you load the game else it still will not work.

Well, unfortunately it didn't work for me on my CycloDS card. Ah well...

Heres a working version of Arm7patch for the CycloDS
Download CycloDS FIX

Thanks, that did the trick.

I played through the first level, and it's pretty fun -- kinda Mega Man with destructible environments. But hell, it's The Hulk, and I love The Hulk. So, being able to play it is a treat for me. For me, this is going to be one of those cases of "nostalgia blinding me to any flaws."

I was watching a gameplay vid on Gametrailers, and I think I can see why some people may not like it. I don't think they used the powers right.

On the gametrailers vid the player never touched the rage ability. Once you turn it on you have to plow through anything destructible and it will fill back up with each hit. It becomes like Sonic with you charging through everything as fast as you can to stay raged. If people are just making him punch and jump then I can see why they don't like it. They aren't playing it right.

A couple of days ago, Shane over at the Cyclo forums had done this, using the Summon Nights arm7 thing. Thanks to everyone for their hard work! I honestly knew the game was going to suck, but it was irking me considerably that it wasn't working lol.

Suck? Hardly. I mean, it's not the most exciting beat`em-up I've played, but I'm enjoying it enough. The gameplay is kinda of homebrew-ish, but it's The Hulk! Come on!

THIS GAME DOES NOT SUCK!

Plus, I like the idea of the unlockable skins. It's not like they're greatly hidden or anything, but it's still neat to be able to see The Hulk is his various forms.

Haha, that's it? That was the method? Just replace the arm7.bin file? ^^

I'm sorry, it's great for ppl who didn't know, but as a DS-X user, I'm more used to patch the nds-files then not to.. xD

Is The Hulk a good game?

Unfortunately for me, it DOESN'T work with the latest M3 DS Simply firmware (v1.14) Has anyone else had any luck getting it to work on the M3 DS Simply? I have tried all known methods of using the Arm7 fix trick. It's funny how this is the ONLY rom I'm having trouble with. Summon Night works fine and so does LEGO Indy, which I've heard others having problems with. Oh well. I'd appreciate it very much if someone who did get it to work on the M3 DS Simply to at least steer me in the right direction to get the silly rom to work. Thanks in advance

Yeah, it's pretty good. Kind of plays like a Castlevania game or a bit like Contra (but without the difficulty). Hulk has some cool things he can do, but mainly it's just fun plowing through levels as the big green dude.

I would try again m3 simply is exactly the same hardware as R4 and it works on mine so should be fine on the simply

Eventhough the New 3DS XL is more powerful, I still feel like the DS Lite was a more polished system. It's a real shame that it never got an XL variant keeping the GBA slot. You'd have to go on AliExpress and buy an ML shell to give a DS phat the unofficial "DS Lite" treatment, and that's the best we'll ever get I'm afraid.

The phat model had amazingly loud speakers tho.

@Jayro, I don't see whats so special about the DS ML, its just a DS lite in a phat shell. At least the phat model had louder speakers, whereas the lite has a much better screen.

They probably said "Hey, why not we combine the two together and make a 'new' DS to sell".

It's a DS Lite in a slightly bigger DS Lite shell.

    It's not a Nintendo / iQue official product, it's a 3rd party custom.

Nothing special about it other than it's more comfortable than the Lite

@SylverReZ if you could find a v5 DS ML you would have the best of both worlds since the v5 units had the same backlight brightness levels as the DS Lite unlockable with flashme

A woman with no arms and no legs was sitting on a beach. A man comes along and the woman says, "I've never been hugged before." So the man feels bad and hugs her. She says "Well i've also never been kissed before." So he gives her a kiss on the cheek. She says "Well I've also never been fucked before." So the man picks her up, and throws her in the ocean and says "Now you're fucked."

anyways, we need to re-normalize physical media

if i didn't want my games to be permanent, then i'd rent them

Agreed, that why I try to buy all my games on disc, Xbox anyways. Switch games (which I pirate tbh) don't matter much, I stay offline 24/7 anyways.
  • AncientBoi @ AncientBoi:
    I don't pirate them, I Use Them :mellow:. Like I do @BigOnYa 's couch :tpi::evil::rofl2:

@BakerMan - you can still "own" digital media, arguably easier and better than physical since you can make copies and backups, as much as you like.

    The issue is DRM
  • cearp @ cearp:
You can buy drm free games / music / ebooks, and if you keep backups of your data (like documents and family photos etc), then you shouldn't lose the game. but with a disk, your toddler could put it in the toaster and there goes your $60

    :rofl2:
  • cearp @ cearp:
still, I agree physical media is nice to have. just pointing out the issue is drm
