The Crew not responding on Press any key

This is actually for my friend as we want to play The Crew. He gets stuck on Press any key but I can continue just fine. We tried re-installing, and unplugging everything but the mouse and keyboard. We also both have Windows 10

Try to use CCleaner to clear your registry and delete The crew folder in my Documents.

It's a long shot, but did he at one point (but not now anymore) have a controller installed? If so, it installed drivers that may cause the game to assume there is a controller attached, where there really isn't one. Googling on how to uninstall this (quick example) may help.

So is this a local co-op game wher you and your friend play together on the same comouter? If so, try going to controller settings and making sure player 2 is set up properly.
