If you power off, you have to plug your iDevice back into a Computer along with the jailbreak tool to regain functionality again.

whenever your iDevice shuts off (battery dies, turn it off) it will stay at the white apple logo screen until you hook it up to your computer and boot it.

You can install the SemiTether jailbreak tweak which will allow you to reboot but with limited functionality until you fully boot tethered.
