Does anyone know if there is a homebrew app you can use to test Gamecube controllers using the official WiiU USB adapter? I tried Wii homebrew Visual Controller Test v1.2 without success. It works on a Wii controller inside vWii but it doesn't seem to trigger or register with a Gamecube controller. The Gamecube controllers do work with Nintendont and USB Loader GX on the same WiiU.

Basically, I have multiple Gamecube controllers I wanted to vet before taking them apart to repair. I know a few have issues with specific buttons. My last resort would be dusting off and setting up a Wii to perform the tests but I was hoping it could be done via WiiU or vWii.

You might be able to test them using hidtovpad, I seem to remember there was an option to test inputs in the Haxchi/Tiramisu version, there's also a hidtovpad plugin for Aroma but I have not tried that one so I don't know if that one has the same features.

Appreciate the suggestion but unfortunately hidtovpad for Aroma I couldn't find any way to test a controller. I may end up just dusting off Wii since that seems fastest way to use Visual Controller Test.

GC Controller Test homebrew (use the version for GC): https://gbatemp.net/threads/gc-controller-test.365086/

GC Controller Test homebrew (use the version for GC): SNIP
I didn't have any luck getting this to work in vWii. The Wii version ran into same issue as Visual Controller Test where GC controllers weren't recognized. I wasn't able to get the GC dol version to load through vWii Homebrew Channel. Is there some other method of launching it? Were you able to get this to work on vWii?

You need to launch it in Nintendont. Only Nintendont supports the GC adapter. I thought that it would be obvious that you can't run a GC homebrew in the Wii homebrew channel.

You're not wrong. I figured it wouldn't work. Would you mind sharing some more details how to load a GC dol through Nintendont? I tried to load it via Nintendont before posting without success. I tried to structuree a folder like a GC game with dol but it isn't recognized. After searching a bunch, I couldn't find any details about loading homebrew via Nintendont, just games.

I can't find anything either, you might have to convert it to an ISO. Seems strange Nintendont wouldn't have built in functionality for simply running .dol files but I guess it's not an often requested feature.
Couldn't find any tools to convert a DOL to ISO but it should work if you replace the .dol file inside a game ISO with any tool that can edit GC ISOs.

There are certainly other ways to run GC homebrew like using a save game exploit, with Nintendont you can easily load an exploited save game on the SD but you would need to inject the homebrew into the save game.

My GameCube adapter works with PC, and I can just use it alongside a website to test a controller to see the inputs, might be worth a shot to just plug in the adapter to a computer or a phone and check the results that way to save time.
