Gaming Tales of Symphonia: Dawn of the New World

Hi,

I recently started playing Tales of Symphonia: Dawn of the New World the NTSC-U version on my PAL Wii.

I quickly came to realize that I can't really save my game, the option is there in the menu but it's darker than the rest of the menu and won't let me select it.
This problem occurred after the first fight with a monster at the lake bed just out side of the first town, the place where you meet that chick with the red gem in her forehead. (I know, I know, haven't played this game much yet)
At least, this was the first place I tried to save the game.

I turned the Wii off because getting there alone took me a good half hour with all the stories and whatnot. Figured if it didn't let me save it by myself it might have an auto-save feature. But apparently it doesn't.

Is this normal and do you get the option to save your game eventually or is this NTSC-U version not working on my PAL system?

You can only save on special spots on the ground ( they look like some magic circles on the ground) like in Final Fantasy 8. As far as i remember after you met the girl there should definetily be a save spot in the cave your going to enter ( ooops spoilerd you

) .

This will cost me another good half hour to do again but at least I know my Wii is functioning properly.

You can also save anywhere on the world map when you are picking where to go. =)

Good game! It's annoying that it won't be released until Juneish here, wtf?
