so wait...

let me get this straight. CIOSCORP will allow me to boot my same region backups from the System Menu...

but some people are trying to get it region free... ...so i should wait before i install it.

correct me if im wrong.
Starfall has been mentioned at least 50 times now. IT WORKS.

starfall does not give full region compatibility if a game is in another video format or requires another language it will blackscreen or freeze.

This hack is so cool, I just HAD to register so I can post my appreciation. I've been watching since post #1 and decided to take the plunge today. I had an itch I had to scratch.

I've just downgraded my Wii from 3.3E to 3.2E, Starfalled, then installed the cIOS pack.

One word: Awesome.

One thing that stuck me, though, during the whole process is how similar what you guys have done is to the cIOS Downgrader. All that that does it take a bunch of IOSes and install them. So I've got an idea. Why doesn't someone modify the cIOS Downgrader to add an additional (or 3 additional, one for each region) entry for the cIOS version of the 3.2 firmware? You could then host them on a server somewhere and voila! a fully automatic system.

WiiPower is working on a installer, but with the "N" files extracted from NUS, and the installer will handle the patching of the IOS...!!!

ether...so when WiiPower finishes the installer...

would it then say be possible to boot the installer with Twilight and install CORP and not have to mess about with HBC or anything...jus have disc channel loading straight away???

or would the installer obv still require a cIOS to work..

No no, the installer will still need either TH or HBC to boot, and the installer will patch the IOSes before installing them so they become cIOS at that time...!!!

Well my installer would require that you have a IOS installed which has the trucha bug, where i would just recommend IOS36v1042.

I have a lot of trouble with the installer, i'm trying for a couple of days now to get ios installation from wad files to work. This drives me mad, as i have code which does eaxctly what i want(wad manager code), but i can't figure out why it doesn't work. As i still don't have ios deleting or overwriting code included, you can't use the installer for ciosrorp, i will change this, but it's not the 1st thing on my todo list.

don't know if it helps WiiPower and i know your a lot more clue than me mate, but i managed to get a make shift installer going..

i just got the old WadInstaller, and placed all the wads in a folder and pressed Reset (as i dont have a GC pad)

one touch install. worked on my mates 3.2 the other day. granted he already had cIOS rv7 installed. but its working nicely.

jus thought i'd chip in

The code i have works(wad manager), but i want more than just install wads. I want to use all sources for ios files you can get your hands on, nintendo's servers, nand, wads and wii discs. In order to do this, i have to seperate the loading code from the install code, but i don't know why it's not working.

Oooh my god

if finish this project it would be the greatest release in homebrew file installing, not only limited to .wad files or the use of NUS, didn't know you wanted to go that far...!!!

I think I know where he's going with this installer....

At least I'm hoping that you'r gonna have it pull the existing IOS' from the NAND, Backup the IOS' to SD, then Dip Patch/Replace IOS' from Desired Source. Knowing the way these guys have been coding lately, it's probably gonna have FS dumper built into it as an option. Might as well add channel manager to it as well to give it a Robust Manual mode.

EDIT: As a side note, I just browsed over to wehackwii.com to take a look at the news... and I noticed over on the right side of the page they have a little shoutbox, gadget and the talk on it is about CIOSCORP. hehehe

I'm just wondering, though, why you are going to the trouble of DIP-patching the IOSes on the fly?

Would it not be simpler to create a full set of firmware files (System Menu, IOSes, MIOS, etc) made up partly of a combination of standard 3.2 Ninty stuff and patched stuff? You could then make some kind of update installer (similar to cIOS Downgrader) to install them.

You'd have a hacked firmware release running in paralell with Ninty's release. If they bring out a new firmware release, you just add any necessary new (DIP patched) IOSes to your release.

This way you know the IOSes you're installing have all be tested together and work. If you patch stuff on the fly, isn't there a possiblity that Ninty could release a new IOS that plays merry hell (ie bricks) if you try to DIP patch it using the same method as old IOSes?

I only write a tool which lets you choose your ios source(server, .wad, nand or disc), choose your patches and then choose the destination(IOSx). I'm considering a save function, for both source ios and patched ios, encrypted and decrypted form, but i have a lot of other stuff to do first.

wad loading problem is solved now, it's too stupid, i needed to replace malloc( x ) with memalign(32, x ) for tmd, ticket and certs.
