This thread progresses very fast lol. Think it's going to past the 80 page gamma thread?

Great job on trying to find out how to be able to play all regions.
 
HELP!!!!! I downloaded "Billy The Wizard Rocket Broomstick Racing" and I can't get it to run!!!!!!!!

1. Step away from your computer, take a deep breath and calm down.
2. Head to your computer and locate the iso for the game.
3. Delete the iso.
4. Empty recycle bin.
5. No more problems.

also.
If we (by which i mean you) can get out of region games to work through this manner (i assume it will need to patch the system menu itself, and not an IOS) than this shall be the uber 1337 haxx.
The only thing missing is x6 read speed, which i don't think will be achieved till someone tries to access the dvd drives firmware.

Heh,

My post was meant to show the difference between loading with CIOSCORP method and the other Forced IOS loading method. The threads for the other types of loading are loaded down with messages about I can't run this, I can't run that. Not many messages like that here. Granted, not as many people have tried this obviously but there sure haven't been any game not working reports that I'm aware of. With CIOSCORP method as long as it's a 1:1 in your region, it just works. And hopefully very soon just has to be a 1:1.

Now somebody prove me wrong with a game that won't work in your region. And don't count Dual Layer or Games that don't contain code to be able to run out of region.

Again, Mario Party 8 NTSC patched to PAL, does not boot from disc channel.
I don't know why, Rockband 2 works patched, Rayman raving rabbids works patched.
Can someone else with a PAL wii try this ?

Also this can work out of region, as it loads with gamma.

PS. I'm not complaining.

after getting hold of WiiIOSBugFix.rar i noticed that the collection of original ios does not contain ios9 and ios35

has anyone got a link to for a complete set of original ios that they can pm me?, yes i know i have then with my nand dump, but would like them in wad format
 
Ok you last 4 or so should have it....both sets complete orginal and ciospak...

Just be careful.

I've used the CIOSPAK on 2 Wii's (1 of mine and 1 on someone elses) perfect region compatibility1:1 isos.

On my personal Wiinuea Pig... I used multi-cios installers.


By the way... On the non-Region isssue.... I feel like we're getting warmer.

This is working for me as well now - kick ass-work mates!

With regards to getting autoboot of backups before systemmenu, a simpler alternative to chopping up a gamecube controller is by using SaveMii. I bought one when they were new, 50/50 to support the Twiizers and to have a kewl led:ed thingie to put in my Wii, and have now found a really good use for it.

When autoboot from system menu is enabled from starfall, and all ios:es are dip-patched, having your SaveMii in a GC-slot makes the Wii skip system menu and boot straight into all games, backups included; and it takes up way less space than any GC-mod. (And looks really cool!)

For this to work though, you need to disable the Y-button to recovery menu-patch though since this renders SaveMii unusable. (I suppose it redirects the check for the recovery dongle to GC-pad or something.)
 
I agree that the out of region issue seems to be coming to an end. Lets hope results are shown soon.

My computer crashed last night just after i posted and then would not log on net again til this morning.

Now, i have logged on and noticed the other thread which needs to left to die!

Hopefully one of our great coders will help incorparate this for us to try.

I think the region free code should be in the relostub.* files

I think i need a devkitpro too hehehe...

Edit: A quick solution to Region free support is probably to install the rebooter channel. We could have a channel that reboot the console in region free mode. One little step to do to enable region free loading but its a non-permanent mod/patch.
