I am still puzzled by the single PAL game that shows up in disc channel. Mario & Sonic @ Olympics PAL 1:1 I'm wondering what's different about it than all the other PAL backups. Maybe I'll find another PAL title that is recognized properly.

Did you patch the game to NTSC prior to burning??
Also, does it boot from disc channel or is it only banner+sound that appear?

Looks like alot of people are having fun with,

Anyways I now have all the IOS patched, but heres the Prob I'm having, and its a pretty simple one to solve, I've patched the Lower IOs's on my wii,but after i dump them i can't find the right TF Packer to pack, all i can find is some new TF Packer with a nice GUI but it only patches VC Games, I need to older version were you actually had to tell it which TMD , i use to have it but i can't find it, anymore If anyone has a Download Link or can send me to were i can download it that would be great

Ok, I went back and opened the .iso file with W.i.U. 1.1 and it had indeed been region patched to NTSC.
Region patching changes only the Region ID and no the Game ID so mystery solved.

BTW, it did not boot from the channel as I don't have a cIOS21 installed yet till i get the modified m-c-i but Banner,Icon,Sound all are there. If someone sends me link to the cIOS21 with dip 7 i wouldn't complain.

All this patching IOS/.dols, game contents, patching a ISO itself....has gone over my head here, Just by scanning through a few pages, everybody is looking at different patches for different things and others things get involved, seems crazy all this patching for softmodding.
I don't particularly like the sound of it, but hey i wont use it, but as wiigator said installing all them fake signed IOS's etc, could lead to a Brick from Nintendo's Normal Update....WOW imagine that, would be cool

MY solution? Don't update.
If they do release an update sometime in the future that we consider to be an upgrade, then we would just restore all out IOS's back to normal, upgrade, then patch them again...

my main concern is for those who didnt save a copy of their IOS's nintendo won't keep them all on the servers forever, eventually they will get sick of us using them to mod our consoles and will update or change them if they dont remove the older ones completely
ah heres ether, now maybe that custom ios installer will appear

DJ's cup is half empty. LOL jk bro.

Yea I'm doing other things to my donor Wii since this still needs some work. Just got it to stock w/ 3.2U. So all it has is HBC now

If we get BootMii soon (or alternate) then I'm sure I'll be grinding away at creating an alternate SYSMENU with all these IOS's integrated

I'm still eagerly watching though so keep up the good work guys.

Ok I'm up now and nobody still has the results of the legit copies, does the patching changes their loading time, compatibility, any minimun thing????

as far as i can tell the only 2 differences with patching the IOS's is
1. Load the discs straight from disc channel (if the IOS required by the disc is patched)
2. Disc shows up faster in disc channel than if rebooter is used.

I also figured out, if we patch whatever IOS Zelda uses, i no longer have to keep borrowing the game from my friend.
Even if you brick, you should be able to autboot a burnt Zelda as I'm guessing the IOS's would be unaffected?

Edit: sorry misread, Legit copies appear to be unaffected.

Well if by tomorrow no one reports a secondary effect of using all the IOS patched, then I will release the link publicly, but I wont writte any guide about what are doing, as I would not be resposable for massive brickage on GBATemp users

lol, but think of all the "cioos brecked mah wiiz!!!! halp!!!" threads....funny to me, maybe not so funny to gbatemps bandwidth though...

ok, i've been following this thread since the beginning but am a bit lost now. I'm on 3.2u with starfall and rev7 installed. Now, do i actually need to patch the system menu or just the ios's?

Yeah, I don't think a guide from anyone would be good right now. It would definitely attract inexperienced Wii users. Oh, and be sure to have a nice big warning next to the download link so people know what they are dealing with.

It still amazes me how much progress this has made, all starting from an idea just a few days ago.

Damn, and I've been playing with IOS and waiting all day to patch IOS21 to play around with it. I did have a post in the last couple pages where I described not finding any adverse effects over many hours of testing since last night. I've got everything 28 and above cIOS. My Originals still loading at 6X. I know this because it took about 8 seconds for songs to load in GH3. With Backup Launcher it was more like 12-20 seconds..... Also Mario Kart Wii loaded up faster than with Gamma or Softchip.

That's good to hear. If it were otherwise then I would definitely be leaving this alone.

I've installed cIOS's in
28, 30, 31, 33, 34, 35, 36, 37, 38, 53, and 55.
Everything seems to work fine.

Wait wtf..
Doesn't system menu use IOS 30?

Well... everything seems to be working ok for me on this end... it's cool to see the disc channel actually working on this wii... i think the only original it has played is LOZTP and that was for obvious reasons. Yea.... I am liking this because of the wad manager autoboot disc i now have working with out a chip.. and also starfall installed... I'd have to say that the few of us here in this thread that did this probably now have the worlds most soft modded wii's... which is pretty damn crazy... every damn IOS is now PWNED basically... hope to see some of the more important ones come around here soon... Only reason I did this was because I was getting a little bored with things since at first it was non-stop action when the famous "wan bul" was leaked by whoever.... anyways thanks for the help to all who supported and guided our consoles to a different path of softmodding... cool

So is there a good region patcher/changer out that actually forces the video to ntsc by patching it to the iso before burning or we still have to use a loader channel for that?

Yes it uses IOS30, but it can use others also. Some of us have it patched to use IOS249 since the beginning of this thread. I was thinking of installing original 3.2U system menu back now that's i've already installed cIOS30. I'd be more likely to accidently remove IOS249 than IOS30. I'll probably keep mine on IOS249 for a while longer to give different test results than from those using a cIOS30 for system menu.
