erm... now ya tell me...

Ok thanks for the warnings... so let's say I got channel bricked...the autowadmanager disc would not save me?

hea the wad manager ISO will save you, works like a charm, Well i really like this patch, Well if anyone finds out anything else it can do let me know

yea that works perfect after i put the starfall back on... now if we could some how use the multi-cios app or something similar to patch mutlple ioses to most used ioses for games... this could work?

i am still a little hazy there... but if I was to try a patched 249 PAL on my ntsc wii I wander how that would like fly?

my best guess would be that it would work, But remember after you install the Pal region wad you must use anyregion changer and change your Console area setting to pal, this keeps you from getting the Wii settings error, but what i would like to try is taking a 3.4 system menu wad and patching it to run off of IOS249, but i'll leave that one for someone to try.lol

Once this all gets fully tested, we will need a noob-proof installer, so that bricks don't happen. Especially an installer that patches all of the necessary IOS so that regular unpatched backups can be played.

Well i'm going to try to find a way to patch the IOS's might get into that tomorrow, I always test things like this on vc wad before the System menu wad.lol if we can do that, there will be no need to patch the Wii Games you'll be able to run any 1:1 backup without patching to ios249 but so far so good

Looks like this is going to be interesting to try and follow... too bad I am retiring for tonight... hope to find a solution to this other half of a nice soft-modded setup.. if this works out..everyone will be going this route... and I got to be like 2nd? maybe hehe... anyways.. Nice digging WiiBlaster and everyone else who has been inputting in this thread..

What are you talking WiiBlaster, inside the package of .bat files in the WWpacker there is a "Custom Packer" that lets you change IOS, region and dunno what else..!!!
huh.gif

OSW, you are a genius.
Wiiblaster, you isnt scared of anything.
If this keeps going the way it does, then backup launcher may become obsolete (unless you want to force settings or something)
Just one question, what program would i use to dump the system menu onto an sd card?
I would ask for yours, but im PAL...

Yep i'm about done for the day, might play around with it tomorrow,
My idea was flawed in patching the IOs's all that was changing was the IOSflag, not the IOS itself
Well im tried right now may have to think about it

What is the effect on Rock Band games. Original/Backups. Does it support the USB instruments form the disc channel?

I dont think this changes Compatibility, exactly i know it doesn't

And also people ya can thank the person that started this thread and give him credit for finding this, I was only the Ginnie Pig that tested it

But i do beleive this deserves its own thread, So more people can check it out, So anyone thats wants to start the thread, can do so,

OK here is another idea:

1)Hence you now can delete IOS30 without brick (WiiBlaster and IronMask), you can add a DIP patch to it and reinstall the IOS30 once patched (WiiPower could help here).

2)Reinstall the original SysMenu to hangs again over IOS30-DIP-patched, that way you'll be doing the same as now but the SysMenu will be untouched.

3)But now Waninkoko and/or WiiGator would have to create a new DIP that also have the properties of rebooter (NoCopyFlag, RegionFreeDisc) and the way of read the DVD's (forcing them to be readen by IOS249)

That way we'll now be able to run backups as if the Wii had a ModChip

what do you think??

what do you think??

i think i just came...
Thats genius.
if i understand, what your saying is-
1. Install the ios249 patched system menu
2.delete ios30
3.install a patched ios30.
4.install original system menu.
5.????/
6. Profit!!!!???

yep exactly BUT.....we still need a MulticIOS capable of patching IOS30, and a newly, capable of regionfree discs and forcing DVD's to IOS249, DIP module....!!!

Why not just use Wad Manager to install over IOS30. You wont have to touch the systemmenu wad at all...

hmmm....I guess if it will allow you to....now to wait for a patched IOS30

actually all the IOS's need to be patched, the IOS that the system menu uses needs to be patched and the IOS's that the wii games uses needs to be patched Really need a program to do that I believe their are already Similar programs that do this just not to this degree, Well i'm done for the day
