Anybody else still working on the region and video issues or has everyone called it quits since another tutorial was made?

Nah, nobody has quit, it's Monday and people are back to work and real life. Keep working on that shiat!

About the preloader 0.25, you can apply and add your own patches to the system menu with it, so if we find out how menupatcher or menurebooter patches the sysmenu to use IOS 249 and forces games to use IOS 249. We can then just install CIOS 249 and set the patch in preloader 0.25.

Once again somebody completely missing the point. All the incompatibilities (save Dual Layer) are caused by games being forced to use IOS249. Using CIOSCORP method eliminates these incompatibilities. After the region issue is solved, compatibility should be nearly 100% with 1:1 backups and all run from disc channel. We are already exploring every avenue of getting the Region patches into the System Menu permanently. Be patient and you will be rewarded.

why not install IOS249 as IOS30? I've always wondered that... though I don't know anything about IOS's so my question might be stupid... sorry if it is...

As per my post in the other thread, i'm gonna stop working on this since no one can respect the overall decision to wait on a tutorial until the video/out of region issue was fixed. I may decide to release what i've got as soon as i get it working with all out of region games, as right now my fix idea only works for games that were capable of being forced anyway.

The out of region issue is fixed with starfall. About the video issue, people who's tv's don't support both modes could still use the backup loader for the games that need forcing.

Is there a version of Starfall that keeps the health screen and sound? And will this work if I already have CIOSCORP installed?

Yes, Starfall, just enable the options you want to use. I use everything except GC Region. The bottom options are important to be able to enter recovery mode correctly with the Y button on GC pad.

WHY ARE YOU BRINGING 8 HOUR OLD ANSWERS! I MEANT THAT STARFALL ALLOWS IT TO PLAY GAMES THAT ARE OUT OF YOUR REGION. AT LEAST IT DOES FOR ME. aNIMAL CROSSING NTSC AND MARIO KART NTSC WORK ON MY PAL CONSOLE WITH STARFALL AND CIOCSORP.

You don't get it with the gamma launcher with the 002 fix. Stop asking questions until the official release.

We never wanted to write a Tut, because it is extremely dangerous, and if you really don't know what you're are doing, and just are following other's tut, you can have an error and then you wouldn't know what to do next, I think WiiBlaster should really take out the files from the link, and then I personally will post a tut from the beginin since the extraction of your own files from your own Wii, and then repacking them and installing them, if you know how to extract and repack, then you should be able to install without error, and guessing by the kind of questions all the people is making, I can say that less that the 50% a people is going to try this...!!!

We didn't even want the links posted. That way people have to ask for them and we can evaluate by a few questions if that person is too big a risk factor, this is still very experimental.

As far as me answering posts that were 8 hours old I don't care. Since the questions you answered were mostly guesses, and incorrect ones at that, we now have a bunch of incorrect information posted in this thread. With many people you have to tell them something 10 times to get it into their head. We will now be wasting time explaining to people that the informatoin they read was incorrect. Plese just slow down... read and learn... and pay attention to protocol.

Now to get back on topic. As soon as the fixed preloader comes out (both dol loading and patch permanence) i can really start playing with some code ideas. Honesty preloaders ability to patch was quite unexpected (by me anyway) It should make the region and video mode issues a simple fix, especially if my hunch about a cheating way to video fix works like it theoretically should. Preloader will also enable an easy way to turn off any patches should they ever cause future issues.

That's what this is all about. Applying the same patch to all IOS:es that is made to IOS36 to create 249, but to do it in place. This way, a game that for example uses IOS20 will use the modded IOS20 with DIP-module which allows it to run from a backup. The only IOS you must mod is 30, since this is used by system menu, because otherwise backups won't pop up in disc channel.

I've deleted the guide as most people who try to install it are total noobs and risk having they're wiis bricked. The package is still avaliable if you pm me but you have to prove you know what you're doing. So don't flood my inbox. Also all links have been taken down so using the links from the posts below won't work.

Well it didn't help people, and you should never make any guide without even knowing what you are talking about. That's just common sense...

And did you not see all the posts in this thread saying that we didn't want a guide yet?
