I am trying the offline method here http://gbatemp.net/index.php?showtopic=144...p;#entry2073711 since my niece updated her wii to 4.0u already, is it supposed to be a black screen with red, yellow, and white text?

Also I can't complete step 5 or 6 because it says in read under clearing bss in red to disconnect expansions to avoid problems and i already have and so i let it sit there for a while and it now says "It seems to me that you are a pirate. bye... (press HOME to exit)" what do I need to do?

get rid of the pirate message using NandClean. Its caused when you try to install DVDx with wads on your sd card.

I don't know how to use it..... Also when i choose CMDVDX35 it stays on it, the file name is sd://CMDVDX35 and stays there and changes to the pirate msg when the wiimote turns off by itself, may or may not if you turn it off yourself.

Do I have to delete anything from this http://www.mediafire.com/?mpdy1qmzlgm link that I put onto the root of my sd that was in the sd folder after opening the prepare batch and typing 289 for 3.2u?

um, put it in your apps folder and rename the dol to boot.dol.

Yeah but not on this wii and there are two folders. Also didn't know it was to be used with the homebrew channel or loadmii/offline method, and i deleted the homebrew channel so the bannerbomb/loadmii could work. And her wii doesn't have cios installed and is on 4.0u and cios can't be installed with the homebrew channel in 4.0u i don't think.

Who ever told you the Homebrew channel needed to be deleted for bannerbomb to work was an idiot.

There is absolutely no reason to EVER delete the Homebrew Channel.
