Hey everyone,

I have a strange problem, I recently updated my IOS 249/250 to rev 19. I used the WADs in xzxero's updated sticky guide. Everything was fine with the update, except the issues with the latest USB Loader. So I followed the advice of a few people on the USB GX thread to downgrade back to Rev17. Now maybe this is were I went wrong, but all I did was reinstall the rev 17 WADs I had(Using latest YAWMM).

Every thing seems ok, in the USB Loaders it says IOS 249 rev17, but then USB GX started stating there was a DISC in the drive and asked me to dump the game to the HD, which is fine if I actually had a DISC in the Wii

I wanted to run a sign check so I tried both syschek 1.6.1 and it loads and boots right back to HBC. So I try Dop-Mii and try to show Wii info and it code dumps. What does it mean it syscheck can't even run?

Should I have deleted IOS 249/250 first before downgrading?

Everything seems to be runing fine except I never had these problems with any of the programs before..

any Ideas from you gurus of the wii..

Was finally able to get Syschec to load a few times and it says in a red font:

Unable to get size of TMD os IOS04! then it quits 3 seconds later.

any ideas what that means? what it IOS04 and how do your repair it?

One thing that just occurred to me.... The sound on the 2600 sucked less back then the harsh sound we hear now is from infinitely better speakers we have now, back when the 2600 was new speakers produced a almost muffled sound, like CRTs made old graphics look slightly better.

I wonder if I could recommend that to some emulation devs that perhaps the sound could use some smoothing out to simulate those old TVs
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
I think a few of the early systems could benefit from that, at least up to the 8 bit generation, by the 16 bit generation I think TVs had gotten a lot better in almost every way

It's old but it's the best firmware out for DS stuff
  • Xdqwerty @ Xdqwerty:
it says it only works for the original R4, R4i Gold (r4ids.cn), R4iDSN (r4idsn.com) and Acekard R.P.G.

Just give it a try, but honestly if you have a 3DS you can play DS games without a card just off the internal SD card
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
Slightly slower loading but a bit more convenient
