Uh, I said 1.7ghz doesn’t affect temps kek. 1.7ghz won’t cause stability issues unless your hardware is defective kek

Guardians charge their beams faster and the stais rune last half as long. Basically the update broke the game

Seems like Nintendo´s take on Blast processing!:P

they should just make the option for developers to sue all the time 1.7ghz speed im pretty sure switch could handle it, sure the battery drain would be higher in handheld but in dock mode there would be no change.

That should be really helpful for speed runners.

Did anyone find out if having an oc profile set up for BOTW in sys-clk still lets the game overclock itself for loading screens, or does it override that?

Why does the link on the front page, for the Zelda update lead to a hack topic? Someone messed up!

Yeah, that's the whole point of the module :P You should not touch the cpu setting now in BotW or else you won't get the fast load times.

Makes sense, just setting GPU (and ram?) oc won't affect it tho right?

RAM is fine, but GPU is also OC'd while loading. I don't know if it makes a big difference though.

Anyone tried FFXII? Too sad is sub-native res on handheld mode.

So Nintendo is hacking their own console instead of improving the code?

    Hypocrites.

It’s only during loading to impove loading times :P

This might be because the game code was first made for the Wii U then ported to the Switch, so is probably a mess. Unlike Mario Oddysey that was made solely for the Switch.

Mario Odyssey does the exact same thing, and increasing the CPU speed impoves the loading times of almost every switch game :P

I have to think these games don't have the GPU doing very much during a loading screen, which would make heat from the CPU boost safer to deal with. The tegra GPU doesn't seem like it wastes much energy/heat when idle regardless of the clock setting, as you can see in 2D games.

As others have been saying, I wonder how the revisions will handle the loading times.
