Wow honestly shocked at Rei tbh, leaking convos (and yes, I asked him bout some shit he did in his crack, mainly the opcode shit, like his NOP bytecode was weird shit where its usually 90 90 90 90 but apparently anything works for a NOP so k)

Yall who say this isnt a crack:

- It is a crack, the App is part of SX OS, but it to needs to be cracked. The licence checks of the app are all patched out, all thats left to do is get the cart sigs and kips going which are not directly part of the app. So it IS in fact cracked, just for you 5yrolds to get your free games, instead of complaining, look into getting the kips and shit going (which are not part of the album app)

I mean, when there's a release of a software crack anywhere else on the internet, I expect the software to fully work, and it does.

So, does the software fully work to the specification of the original? Not even caring about comparing to homebrew alternatives, does this do everything the original does? If so, then I would consider it a crack.

Then it's not really a crack because the real SX OS has all that stuff you mentioned included, you don't have to install anything else to make games work.

Actually, this whole thread boils down to "first world problem". Oof..

It's principal.. I don't think anyone should support piracy software financially. Im also the guy who think think that these kind of things should be opensource.
I do not have any personal vendetta towards payed piracy software, but for me it seems just wrong to earn money on letting people steal software.

However if you dessign hardware you have to invest in production and then shipping, you should be able to get that money back as well as being payed for that work.
But with software it's a different story in my opinion. I like information being public and I dislike secrets.

So I guess this SXOS crack is just the application portion and needs to rely on reinx or hekate sigpatches to work (hence the reason why XCI does not work, as its not implemented in either)

Needs to be recompiled in boot.dat or, at least, in kip_BFE03880.bin
I've tried to launch kip_BFE03880.bin, kip_BFF0FDD0.bin and kip_BFF19F80.bin exadecimally edited in the header and renamed for Hekate, but it freeze in a couple of seconds after the complete start.

Its the application front end portion of SXOS, not the SXOS patches to the CFW. Needs other external sigpatches to install and run nsps)

Cracks are for circumventing the paid part of a product. So if that part still isn't happening, why is this guy still claiming it's a crack?

Litterally it is a complete hacking of a part of the SX OS, the "main" package, not all SX OS (wich isn't an OS!).

If you're anti-piracy then it's better to have piracy software locked behind a paywall and not freely available to everyone. You seem to be confused about how you feel about the issue. You sound like you're anti-piracy yet you want piracy tools to be freely distributed. You say it seems wrong to charge people for letting them steal software but you think somehow it's better to let them steal software for free. You need to make up your mind.

Arm op code is not the same as x86 opcode, so 90 90 90 is not the NOP command for ARM, and even then you have 2 differnt types depending on various factors, such as Big endian/little endian/thumb/arm etc.

Unsally NOP is - 00F020E3 or 00BF (depending if it's Arm hex or Thumb hex), not saying you don't know what you're talking about, but if you want to say that x86 code is the same as Arm, you're wrong dude.

Most people just use - MOV r0, r0 to nop an instruction in Arm, I hack android apps all the time, so I kind of know what I'm talking about, BTW most of these apps are Arm based.
