Thanks. I've spent most of the evening working on getting more text extracted. Unfortunately, Omarrios, who is usually in charge of that hasn't been online in a week, so I've been stumbling through. Hit something of a roadblock, but I'm hoping to get it resolved.
Yeah I can imagine translating takes a lot more work then people think... I personally only know English but I've studied up on translating just to get an idea of what it takes and it is Aton of work.

I guess, it's also really interesting, if somewhat frustrating at times. I generally enjoy doing it, it's like solving a puzzle in a way, figuring out what the kanji mean, how the hiragana change that meaning, how that word fits into the context of the sentence. Sometimes it's easy and it all slides into place and I can translate a sentence in a matter of seconds, other times I spend ten minutes on it, or have to ask others for help. Partly makes me wish I hadn't gone back to college, translating is way more interesting than math. Unfortunately, it doesn't pay the bills at the moment.

Hello to all. So already I want to encourage you for this very difficult job, and I hope you will not kill you to the spot ... xD
I would also like to ask a quick question: your patch that you are currently doing, is it only for or cracked version of the game also bought because, as I'm a big fan, I prefer the buy, you see;)
Anyway, good luck to all!

Can't read. Dark theme.

Anyway. Unless Omar or Stor make some sort of plugin, it'll will be for cracked PSPs only. You can rip the game from your disc if you have it.

As Kalker said, it will probably be only for PSPs with a CFW installed. I guess Stor might make a plugin so that it could be run on a PSP running a physical UMD, but that would still require the PSP to have CFW installed to run the plugin. It's good that you want to support the creator, and you can do so either way by buying an ripping the game yourself rather than downloading it from sites I assume I'm not allowed to talk about here.

hey guys just wanted to link this if you havent seen it a group has translated the game text and made a thing of it so you can read it online while playing the unpatched game on your psp

http://yomikaeru.blogspot.com/p/blog-page_3.html
to much of a hassle but maybe you can use it as a guide for the patch

hope it helps
I have seen that, it's sometime helpful, I tend to check my translation against it when applicable, but large portions of the game are not translated on that blog, and it's really not very good English. Thanks anyway, though.

The idea of a translation-plugin is still on my mind, but anyway to run a plugin you still need a CFW. It's not complicated or dangerous those days... you can just use an HEN (Homebrew Enabler) and your PSP will stay on OFW but you can use that program to make it CFW until the last reboot. Seems like a good way for you.

Thanks for the support. I really like the SAO community, fans have translated the light novels, the anime and are working on the game. It's too bad that Vita hacking hasn't gotten anywhere, or I'd work on a patch for it next.

And to anyone who hasn't looked at the "sequel" (set in the same universe several decades later) Accel World, fucking do it right god damn now, it is amazeballs.

So I read these recent posts... and basically I'll have to crack my psp to play with the patch, now would an alternative be to make an ISO and then use ppsspp?

Yes, PPSSPP would be able to play a patched ISO. It's how we do most of our testing, actually. That said, HEN is super easy to install, and turning off your PSP puts everything back to normal. And then you'd be able to play any ISO or homebrew you like.

Thanks Ill probably just do that I figured it was easy was just checking my options, I honestly prefer to play straight off the original console to an emulator anyway ^.^

I prefer PPSSPP since I can use a PS3 controller and upscale the image. Holding a PSP for long periods of times makes my hands cramp up, something about the way it's designed or my hands are too big.
